Not only you can have a full breakfast with all-you-can-drink filter coffee here, but it's open from 8 AM onwards too! I'm a local, and believe me, that's a rarity in these parts. I usually stick to the savories and tend to skip the sweets, so I have nothing to say about them pastries, but the eggs, are simply great.... More

This is a lovely place to have breakfast or just a coffee and pastry. The breakfast buffet is comprehensive, with delicious fruit, cereal, cheese, eggs and home made pastries. This is probably the best coffee house in all of southern Chile.

Traveling in Chile and Argentina for two months is tough if you like a full breakfast. We finally found a breakfast worth getting up for at Marion's. It is a cute, cozy, clean little cafe with a professional and friendly staff. The breakfast was delicious and hearty with eggs that were cooked correctly (hard to find in Chile!) We enjoyed... More

This place smells of grandmothers and the pies taste like they were made by grandmothers. That is how you want your pie to taste, right? For lunch I would recommend cafe blanco's 3500CLP set menu, one block away but Marion's Cafe Aleman is great for an afternoon pie and coffee.

Marion's has great pastries, fantastic lunches, and the best coffee that I had in Chile. It was good enough to earn a return visit promptly the following afternoon.

Nice sofa and music in the background.Coffee tastes all right. The sandwiches are not sandwiches- just salad sitting on top of a couple of pieces of bread and overpriced for that. Was none of the fabled applestrudel in the cake cabinet so we didn't bother with dessert. We weren't sure what all the hype was about on here- same goes... More

We had had a fantastic apple strudle in la Union at a little place a few days before and visit Puerto Varas and Frutillar and the pastries are pretty incredible. So after the last review we really wanted to try this place. We finally found Marions open our last day in Chiloe ( closed Sunday afternoon, maybe all day? and... More

Castro needed a Cafe like this one. Nice atmosphere, excellent cakes and coffee, and friendly welcome. Very unsual in Castro to have such a good service, good quality and down to earth prices. Well done Marion!

Marion's Cafe Aleman in Castro is a culinary highlight on the Isla Chiloe in Chile. Marion is from Germany and makes homemade cakes like no-one else. She bakes with her heart, fresh every day and her 'Apfelstrudel' is out of this world.

Visited Marion's Cafe Aleman after reading all the great reviews here on tripadvisor. I was not disappointed! Nicely decorated and cozie atmosphere, plus the owners were very nice and spoke English. I had coffee and apfelstudel. Wonderful!
