Drink order and appetizers were quick to come. It took our waitress a long time to come back to take food order. After a period of time had passed, we were informed computers went down and our order was never received in kitchen. More time passed, no food. After being there over 1.5 hours, with 2 small kids, we left.... More

Last night must have been a "off" night for the staff. We had called ahead (a week) to let them know we would be group coming to eat. Some of our people were no shows so after 30 minutes, we told our waitresses we were ready to order that apparently some were apparently no shows. It took another 30 minutes... More

The Cowpen has delicious chicken fajitas. Subpar salad bar. Our server was attentive and pleasant. I like the music and general atmosphere. It took awhile to get our food, but I don't mind a little more time to visit with friends. Probably not the best place if you're in a hurry, but excellent for a meal at a relaxed pace.

We were regular customers years ago, stopped by on a visit back to Arkansas to visit friends, really disappointed in quality and cost of food. Cow Pen Special rib eye was mostly gristle and very tuff. Sweet potato fries were cold. $27.50 for this? Give me a break! What happened to a great restaurant?

The only reason I gave this one star was because I couldn't give it minus stars. Tonight I had something that was supposed to be spaghetti with meatballs. I've had the opportunity to have eaten all over the world, so I can truly say this is the worst spaghetti in the world. I've never tasted anything like the guck that... More

Quality has been improved compared to several years ago. Good basic food choices, the building is not impressive. Staff has a good attitude and are helpful. Some tables are too close to the wall and poorly lit.

Went with a group on a weekday night. The restaurant was not very busy. However, service was ridiculously slow. Salads arrived after 30 minutes. Entrees arrived well after an hour. Everyone's food was cold. My steak was ordered medium, but arrived very well done, like shoe leather. Baked potato was cold. Complete waste of time and money.

Wonderful environment and the food is excellent at an ideal price. Steaks are very good! Last time I went they were not open on Monday's or Tuesday's. On the west side of the Mississippi river near Lake Chico. Cross the newly built bridge connecting Mississippi and Arkansas.

Southern hospitality; my family group (well over 30 people) dined there on the first night of our reunion weekend, and the staff was accommodating, patient and enjoyed serving us. The food was very good--I thoroughly enjoyed my catfish basket, and the atmosphere was "down home" without crossing the line into "kitsch" a la Cracker Barrel. Very convenient place to eat,... More
