Each time we come to Sosua we come to this place. Unfortunately they are closed for the time being hoping to reopen Oct/Nov. Kelly and Patty the owners are super nice people. The staff they have are great, very friendly and personable.

Sosua can and will boast a lot of themes and most of it is true...the People are friendly The culture, and the country are inviting. The beaches are a welcome treat especially in the Winter months that we have here in Ontario. Now the best spot in the whole area is of course the famous Jolly Roger bar at #11... More

This Canadian-owned bar/restaurant has a large local following. Unfortunately it was completely destroyed recently by fire; arson is suspected. The owners are rebuilding but progress is slow, which is typical in the Dominican Republic. One of the big events for many locals is the Jolly Roger Bingo on Tuesday mornings, with the proceeds going to support local causes. A great deal... More

Good pub food and some that's more than pub food. Good company. Canadian run. Unfortunately at this time (March-April 2014) they are shut down due to a fire. Rebuilding has started though and their website will no doubt have news about a re-opening date. wbr

We were sad to see a fire had taken place the night before we went to try the Jolly Roger, had read excellent reviews and were looking forward to trying it. Hope they recover soon.

Yeah, If you are Canadian over 55 and love pirate theme bar (which is liked by 10yrs) then this is right place for you. Thursday was Karaoke. 99% of songs were `50-`60. This is like oasis for people who don`t wont to mix with locals. I was bored like hell (35). Ladies and couples love it. And Yes, they have... More

Hi--thanks for taking the time to review our bar. It is very useful to get feedback--positive and negative. I am a little confused with your comment about the owners wife--as that is me--and I never sing at karaoke as I am a very bad singer. You have me mixed up with someone else. As I appreciate your comments it may... More

It's always great to find a place run by great people from your homeland and the Jolly Roger is just that place. They had satellite tv showing the hockey games which was nice for us Canadians...lol. Beer was ice cold and the food was great. Look forward to seeing them again next year.
