This has been a past "go to" spot for a good value including a good splurge on the mixed seafood grill with langostinos, shrimp, calamari, mussels... The specials are a great value and this is one of the few Cabarete locations for Dominican food. Sadly on the most recent visit the seafood was not good and part was sent back.... More

Small restaurant where you can have a lunch for 200 pesos (4.5 US$). The food is simple but always good. You also can order some meals from the menu. It's a bit more expensive but still available and good. Laaarge seafood paella for 2 (3 person can eat and there will be too much food) at 900 pesos (21.00 US$)

We went here because of all the good reviews on trip advisor. However, we did not find it to be that great. It is a little whole in the wall on the side of the road. We were a group of six people in total so everyone ordered something different from the daily specials. That was a total disappointment .... More

That thatch roof structure in the picture is the entire dining area. And the photographer was probably standing in the highway. Despite the road noise and strong breeze the seafood paella was very good.

Last year, my wife and I ate at Casa Mami. The owner was so friendly and the food was always fresh and delicious. I returned there with my daughter and son-in-law today. We were sorely disappointed. The owner was there, but he ignored us. He was busy chatting with friends and hauling off some old palm leaves. There was only... More

Four of us had dinner here a couple of weeks ago, both couples ordered the Paellas for two, this was a large frying pan with rice, chicken and other stuff, there was lots of food but the taste was bland. We couldn't eat it all so we took the leftovers back to the condo and I had it for supper... More

Casa Mimi is about as laid back and local as you can get in Cabarete, Dominican Republic. The restaurant is basically a big open cabana with nice ocean breezes blowing in from the beach across the street. Apparently the cops from the police station next door are regulars which gave the place a very local feel. Our party of three... More

So down to earth, you feel like at home. Very cheap, we had two fish and salad. Everything was great! Best fish I've eaten in RD. It's a must!!!

I went to Casa Mami for my birthday and was not disappointed. Fresh lobster and fish was delicious. I agree with all the praise for the food, service and ambiance. The only thing I would point out is that make it a special occasion. They don't spare the butter or the salt so get ready for a decadent tasty meal!

I cannot add much to the praise about the food, service and prices, it’s all true. So I thought I'd describe how to find the place, since it seems to cause some difficulty, also to me. Starting from Janet’s supermarket, head east out of town along the highway. After about 5 minutes walking you will see the Playa Ventosa resort... More
