'Supons' Hideaway youfind at one of the best locations in Ranong, even on hot days relatively airy, laid back from the main road, and having a nice view in most directions. However, the food isn't what it used to be years ago, and the service is not any better (if not even worse) than at any street stall. Reasons are... More

A local hangout for the younger crowd in Ranong. Pool tables, sport on telly and steaks with chips. They do some really nice local dishes too such as young coconut curry which is served in a green coconut. Beers weren't too expensive and food reasonably priced.

Looks good from the outside. Prompt service but watch the mozzies. Food was absolutely average......nothing special. A reasonable veg stir fry and a rather tame green curry. I like my Thai food cooked local style heat and all and always ask for it Thai style. Why dumb it down when you are asked not to? There is a far, far... More

The restaurant was not clean - we had to ask for our tables to be cleaned. Would try somewhere else next time

My fiancé and I ate here last night looked like a nice little place, however my fiancé thought his curry tasted slightly strange but figured they must just use a different ingredient to other Thai curries. A few hours after eating here my partner was being violently sick and severe diarrhoea and nearly 24 hours later still hasnt stopped being... More

This was called Sophons Hideaway, but the lease wasn't extended. Still a nice place to sit and drink but the food is not up to scratch. Although the menu hasn't changed, cooks are a different matter, so depending on who they have means its a hit and miss affair.

Carbonara I ordered was full of local factory processed pork and sausages - far from what carbonara should be. Also the waiter brought chocolate shake instead of watermelon which I ordered. The service was fast though and prices are reasonable. Maybe okay for drink, but I would not expect much from food.

I was based in Ranong for 2 years, doing trips into Myanmar during the week and staying in Ranong on weekends. Sophon's was by far the most chilled place for a bit of civilization, nice conversations, a bit of drink and great food. The setting is just right. The staff are great. Mark (when he's in town) and Sophon are... More

The waitress that served us has to be one of the most miserable person I have come across in Thailand. Strangely, the other rude and miserable person was at our hotel in Ranong. Maybe it's the appalling weather! She was rude and sullen but changed into a smiling person when some locals came in. The food was edible but nothing... More

We enjoyed beer and some of foods at lunch. Taste of dishes are good and the service of staff is helpful. The price is reasonable. Compare to other restaurant around here, we'll choose here again.
