I'm such a fan of Bicol Express and they have it! It's behind Red Platter along Magsaysay Avenue. The place is small, and the waiters are not at all attentive, but the food is worth a visit.

We wanted Bicolano dish so we ordered Laing, Bicol Express and Kinunot na Pating. Laing was not so good. Bicol Express is like more of "Binagoongan". I personally liked the Kinunot na Pating :-) we also tried their best-sellers, Batang-batang Pusit, Kare-Kare and Pininyahang Manok, all tastes superb. Food presentation is appetizing! Would definitely recommend it.

We had the fish sticks (looked like dilis to me!) with eggplant salsa, and I enjoyed the salsa very much. The presentation was very interesting! We had several dishes in coconut milk (gata), like the one with chicken and pineapples, and a Bicol express; but they were all just okay. Chef Doy was very nice, though. He came out to... More

This was a nice restaurant located along the Magsaysay Avenue restaurant strip cozily packed in the back. The service was friendly but efficient. The restaurant was simple and when we arrived during lunch, we were seated for a family of ten immediately. The menu prices were reasonably cheap. The food was good. I highly recommend the Bicol Express and the... More

We tried Chef Doy during one of our regular trips to Naga City. It's the resto's apparent fame that enticed us to give it a try. The food they offer is indeed something new and unique particularly for the long list of Naga's restaurants. Local dishes served with a twist in terms of preparation and presentation. After ordering, we were... More

Chef Doy's is located inside a compound of restaurants of Laksa, Grissini, Uncle Johnny's. We chose Chef Doy's for it's Bicolano cuisine. We had Bicol Express of tiny shrimps, laing, and a dish with shark meat. The servings were big and the food was really good! One of the chefs-Johnny- was so friendly and entertained us well. He even walked... More

We ordered Ibos-ibos (rice cooked in coconut milk with a choice of entree and egg & tomato), Pininyahang Manok (chicken with pineapple) and Kinalas (egg noodle dish with beef). All were fantastic. The flavors just explode in your mouth. Their shakes are really good, too. The only thing I would criticize them for is lack of space. It is quite... More
