We stumbled across this restaurant, as we E-Biked down the road the owners shouted, nicely, for us to come on in and so we did! We were glad we did, the food was fresh and of excellent quality. The prices were good for Bagan and if you can go and sample their food, you won't regret it.

This restaurant offered fantastic vegetarian food so delicious, you forget its only vegetarian. We had great fruit smoothies, recommend the papaya smoothie, eggplant curry, delicious and not too salty or oily, and the tea leaf salad, also great. The owner will tell you about his family and 7 daughters if you ask. Not too hard to find, its on the... More

Being a vegetarian, I found myself eating the same fried noodles over and over in Myanmar. So yar pyi was a relief. They have a big menu and veg-friendly variety. I tried the "special fried eggs" and it was a good choice. Eggs and tomato slices perfectly cooked, with a pile of yummy veggies on top.

A great selection of vegetarian food, so good I went back twice! The aubergine curry was fantastic and yet very cheap. The family was very friendly. Highly recommend, they'll be the ones saying 'hello' to you as you walk down the row!

2 mins walk from Tharabar gate hotel, agree with all the recent reviews. interesting authentic and delicious Burmese vegetarian dishes, like eating with a family, friendly, good service. recommend aubergine special salad, guacamole which has lashings of lime and coriander, pumpkin curry. don't be out off by simple rustic appearance from the outside . speak English. cost us 10 dollars... We ate here twice during a few days in Bagan. I am not normally taken by Veggie food but was talked into going here by friends. The food was great. Especially the curry.

The taxi driver gave us 2 options, the Moon or Yar Pyi. As the latter is not mentioned in the lonely planet we decided to go for Yar Pyi. We were the only one for dinner, due to low season. Friendly couple is running the restaurant, the man is working as waiter and the wife is cooking everything. We ordered... More

Food was good, service was great, the place was also good, some people get a ducted to their food and come back often. The guacamole has a nice different taste from what I know being mexican, the "totopos" were too oily. We order an special of the day, pumpkin curry and could barely taste the curry on it. My partner's... More

Our dining experience at Yar Pyi was just wonderful! The food was some of the best we've had in Myanmar so far (the papaya salad was the best I've ever had!), the prices were very reasonable, and the family that runs the restaurant was so nice and hospitable! They made sure everything was to our liking, and even sent out... More

We visited this lovely family run restaurant after going to the other vegetarian restaurant - the moon - the previous night. The family who run Yar Pyi are extremely friendly. The food was amazing - definitely recommend the special aubergine salad which is really garlicky and had an almost smoky taste. Also the carrot salad and the peanut and tomato... More
