OK but not that impressed

To start with you may think I'm being cynical and we went there twice so it must be OK. It's cheaper than Moon restaurant ($1.5-2.5 a dish compared to $3-$4 at Moon). The people are friendly but of course they're going to be as they want people in their restaurant with Moon being opposite. They are... read more

Went here on recommendation from my tour guide and was not disappointed. Some of the people I'm traveling with have chosen to return multiple times, they loved the fresh guacamole. I recommend the coconut juice to those who love coconut!

Ah Mar Kyi cooks wonderful food at this family owned vegetarian restaurant . The menu offers a wide choice and variety with complimentary fried soya bean strips at the start and fresh cut fruit to finish. There are such choices as tomato and peanut curry. The lassis are to die for and you won't ever have tasted guacamole quite so... More

The coconut rice was very tasty but definitely very rich. I had a great pumpkin vegetable curry with boiled egg one morning which was very nice, and then later an eggplant curry which I thought didn't have as much flavor as my first choice. The guacamole was really good, the avocados in this country are great. The women in the... More

Well, it's hard to compete with an amazing neighbor (The Moon, just in front), especially when both restaurants offers almost the same menus... but one of them is obviously better than the other. And in that case, the laureate isn't Yar Pyi. The food is good, though, and the owners are lovely. But one you have tried The Moon, you... More

In the shadow of the close-by Moon restaurant, yarpi is a decent alternative, although not as good. The interior is not as inviting, but it serves many similar vegetarian dishes (not sure which one is the copy-cat). The noodle soup and lassi were enjoyable, but some of the options not as favorable, for example the avocado mix.

Only good thing about this place is the owners. They are very friendly. Breakfast was awful, we were a big group of 8 and tried all type of eggs, they were all greasy an inedible. I am really suprised with the positive reviews here...

The food was very good and the family very nice! The price is not expensive for the quality. I recommend this restaurant for anyone.

As a vegetarian is is great to have 2 vegetarian restaurants in close proximity, unfortunately the idea is better than the reality. The westernized food is at most average, as for personalized service, as we were leaving after paying our bill we were asked if we wanted to come in and have a meal. As for comparisons to The Moon... Being on the same road almost opposite of "The moon" is a bit difficult for this lovable restaurant, too much competition there. But I am sure the service we got in the Yar Pyi was warmer and more personal, and the food couldn't have been any better! By the way, I prefer squatting toilets and I'm not the only one…anyway,...
