Only tourists visit this place, that should have been a warning. Professional service, nice ambience, cold beer, but the food is the worst we had on our Indonesia trip. We had the nasi campur but that was obviously the wrong choice when I read the other reviews, for it tasted like nothing.

The food is great and the staff are pleasant and friendly. The cafe seems to be a meeting point for travellers to share their stories and while I was there a young man began strumming his guitar. A relaxed place offering the best food in Rantepao.

Under my opinion this is the best option in Rantepao. The service is good and fast (and this is strange in Rantepao, where you usually have to wait for more than one hour for the first dish). The food is very good and the atmosphere excellent. I recomend you make a reservation because the restaurant is usually full. Nonetheless, the... More

We came here on our last night in Toraja hoping for some good meals and good times. But we were expecting too much. The place is nice, but the food just terrible and way overpriced. The buffalo steak was super chewy, the veggies that came with it was pale looking and just tasteless, and the fries was so soggy from... More

Cafe Aras looks different, that's why so many tourist come here. I can imagine. But the food is realy not very good. The staff had a great difficulty of getting the food on the tabel. So if you are with six, one is already finished and the other still waiting. Iam sure the the more simple restaurant have much better... More

I enjoyed my experience at this cafe. It's a tad more expensive than the others in Rantepao, but justifiably so as they offer the best food quality and atmosphere. It does get a bit crowded in the evenings with all the foreigners though.

The food here is not that nice. The pizza and springrolls where horrible. The avocado with shrimps is nice though. For drinks, this is by far the nicest place in Rantepao.

The pros: waiters speak and understand english well enough delicious, fresh, natural juices (avocado with choclate is recommanded) The cons: yes the buffalo steak is tough an no pleasure as also the pepper sauce is watery customers are mostly tourists (not a real con if you prefer their company :-)
