Been in Toraja for 1 week...and started craving for non local food that having taste close to its original taste! It's quite difficult to find a decent place for just having pasta, cakes and pizza. I gave 4 ratings for this place since it's a hidden gem in Toraja. Worth try!

Two friends and me went there during our trip through Sulawesi. I decided to take the Buffalo Steak, one of my friends as well. We both good food poisoning the night after, which is a clear sign that we good it from there. Be aware guys! The place is overpriced and for that shouldn't provide food poisoning. A place that... Aras is a very nice bar, and the boss as all other people we met there are supernice! BUT, we met one guide there you should stay away from: Henrik Vogelsang...This old man pretends to be "different than all the other guides" and tells you "you are here to have a nice holiday, so we of course do what ever... The restaurant options in Rantepao are limited (apparently, most locals mostly eat at home) and the Cafe Aras is a welcome alternative to the rather lame hotel buffet options.

Decent restaurant in the center of the city where you will see the same faces during dinner that you saw visiting the attractions during the day. The interior is nicely decorated, there is free WiFi and the meals are good, although not special. The grilled fish we had one day was pretty badly burned (a few mm of hard black... More

We had a few meals - coffee, lunch and dinner - in Cafe Aras on different days during our stay in Rantepao. Every time we left happy and satisfied of our visit. The staff are very friendly and somewhat attentive. They helped us out to find a guide who was actually just sitting at the front and had not hassled... More

Definitely, the most stylish and best food in town. The restaurant has large and small tables with tasteful Toraja decorations on the wall. The food is great and the staff quiet but friendly! The atmosphere is friendly. It is a great social spot as in the evenings, the locals play guitar, sing and all are invited to join in and... More

Great coffee. We had a night time singalong with the Torajan guys, they know a surprisingly large repertoire of recent pop songs. Good food. Costs a little more than average on that street but great setting and good free Wifi
