And it has moved (5 years ago). White tiles, red seats waiting for a wedding. Nothing wrong with the food (except it is expensive) but zero atmosphere. To experience Indonesia eat elsewhere.

like: some of their food (fuyunghai and Prawn roll) and its near the city disliked: pricey, a little bit old school the restaurant is near the city and it wasn't crowded when i went there for dinner
The restaurant Hawaii is a good spot to escape to if you are feeling overwhelmed. Clean and indoors it has a good, but more expensive menu and would make people who needed an escape from the outdoor eating places feel comfortable so in that way it could be good for families.
Good taste of food with above average price. But still i like the taste of it. Located in the center of the city. Easy access and parking.
In 1973 the Hawaii was the restaurant of choice for all of Pontianak, locals and us few expats alike.
It was incredible for me to discover that its still top of the pops.I plan to go to Ponti next year & the Hawaii will be my first stop. I have some early photos that I shall post at a later...

great authentic pontianak's chinese food. been generations since it was first established.
I had eaten at the old Restorant Hawai and always loved the food so 25 years on I had to try out the new one and the food was the same. We loved it.
Great selection of cooked-to-order food. Nice mix of Indonesian-Chinese options, friendly service, and even the choice of open-air or A/C dining if you wish. If you are in Pontianak, eat at Hawaii!
