A wonderful place. Went back each night. Delightful owner who knows simply everything about the local wine. Super selections, reasonable price. Wine flights particularly good: either by grape or same grape by vineyard. Can't recommend highly enough.

Chato's is a great place for a good night out! We enjoyed the fabulous wine flight! Chato was wonderful and had great information on the regional wines. Highly recommended!

I highly recommend this wine bar if you have the slightest interest in wines. Chato is a lovely host and offers a broad selection of wines from all the bodegas in Cafayate. Chato's knowledge about wine is excellent and therefore he can recommend the best wines for your taste. If I lived in Cafayate I would be a regular at... More

My husband and I were so taken by Chato's that we had to come back and write a review right away! The owner is amazing and knows his stuff! We wondered, why tour when you can taste everything in the region here!! This is the closest we had to a real American wine bar that offers flights AND wines by... More

We stopped by this wine bar planning to have a glass of wine before dinner and ended up staying hours! The host, Chato, is from the region and knows everything thee is to know about its wines. His wine abar also is one of the few (only?) places to get wine by the glass and he offers varieties from every... More

Oscars explanation of the delicious wines on offer was better than the bodegas that we visited! He is such a delightful warm and welcoming man. The bars feel is relaxed and beautifully decorated. His extensive knowledge on the wines on offer was just perfect.

A trip to Cafayate is not complete without a visit to Chato's wine bar. He carries all the local favorites, including the big guns, and knows all the history of the area. They open at 7 pm or 19:00, a perfect way to start or end the night in town. They are a block off the main square, close to... More

Nice guy. Good selection of local wines. 'Home made' wine is an aquired taste, but otherwise we liked the place and the recommendations he made. Would go back.

Chato's is ok, but not nearly as good as would have been expected from reading reviews. I'm not saying avoid at all costs, just don't expect to be wowed. My take: The ambiance could have been cute without the tired songs from the 80's playing. The service was really hurt by Chato substituting salami for cheese on the cheese plate... More

One of the very few wine bars we found in Argentina, Chato (real name Oscar) hosts wine tasting options with enthusiasm. Extensive selection of wines with cheese/ham nibbles as an option. A fun way to start an evening.
