Following the TripAdvisor scores we decided to go to this restaurant. Our empanadas were black, the meat we ordered as main dish was just ineatable, chewy, grilled black... The waitress was unfriendly. Skip the place.

We visited la Casa during our stay in Cafayate. The restaurant just moved, next door to Chato's. There were 12 sorts of empanadas, so we ordered a dozen to try everything. The price is comparable to other restaurants (so not super cheap) but the empanadas are yummy.

The Calchaquí has to be the most delicious empanada I've ever eaten, with exquisite goat's cheese. For those who do not fancy goat's cheease, try the Cafayateña, another gem, this one has a touch of Malbec wine. There are two branches, go for the bigger one with a nice fireplace and live local music. Enjoy!

A plate of empanadas and a half bottle of wine - perfect lunch for two. Many different types to try from, tamales and other regional food as well. Definitely include this on your lunch list!

we have visited the sunny terrace with friends and ordered a couple of dozends of Empanadas. They are all delicious, the normal carne and ham and cheese seemed a little dull compared to the 10 other tastes. All out of the oven, not fried of course. The service was friendly and flexible.

Fantastic empanadas but even better tamales! The service was also great! Super friendly waiters who took the time to tell me about all the empanadas. Definitely worth the visit!

Worth a visit, nice little place - simple menu but interesting options. 89 pesos 12 empanadas and a 1/2 litre carafe of Torrentes. We also had the lokra, yum! Empanadas were out quick despite being busy. They were a little salty we thought, the only downside

This restaurant had a great playground for young kids to climb and play that came in handy as we waited a long, long time for our empanada order, which then arrived incomplete and incorrect. Maybe we just had a flaky waitress, but none of the other wait staff seemed to want to make things better, either. However the empanadas are... More

We loved this restaurant! It's true that it's hard to find the types of empanadas (as in varieties) served here anywhere else in Argentina, but that is the attraction. Don't think it is just a touristy spot. It is a special, delicious experience and truly run by all Argentinians. It's so much fun to order a variety of the different... More

We paid 68 pesos for a dozen and had 12 different types to choose from of which 6 were vegetarian. The Empanadas are made fresh to order. I found the blue cheese ones too strong but the others were delicious. Service was good too we only had to wait about 15 minutes. Would recommend a visit!
