Really nice cheese restaurant

This is a no frills cheese restaurant that really does a good job at revisiting Swiss specialty with charlevoix products I had cheese fondue with mushrooms and although consistency is thicker than traditional Swiss fondue it was very enjoyable My wife had the chicken and really loved it so... read more

I had a good home made pea soup, mussels in a mustard sauce and a chocolate dessert. All were very good but the dessert was excellent. The wine list had a variety of offerings at reasonable prices. The service was excellent. It is in a nice old building with simple decor but cosy. Ample parking next door. A do again.

Despite its reputation for artisanal foods, you will have trouble getting anything better than an ordinary meal in the Charlevoix region. L'Orange is among the handful we would trust, but in an awkward sort of way. The menu is different and seems artfullly considered, but somehow didn't have a lot that seemed appealing tonight. For our recent meal, somehow the... More

Having just spent 6 nights in the area, we tried as many restaurants as we could while we were there. On one of those nights, we went to l'Orange Bistro. RESERVATION NEEDED? SURE To play it safe, we called about an hour before we went to ensure they would have space and made a reservation. When we got there, the... More

We picked this Baie St Paul resto for its beautiful curb appeal. It did not disappoint. Appetizers of fried calamari with parmesan cheese and balsamic reduction and Charlevoix Angus beef tartar were great for starters. My main dish of salmon filet with rice, vegetables and orange sauce was perfectly cooked. Nice elegant ambience inside. Friendly prompt service. Lovely restaurant in this... More

Conveniently on the way back from Tadoussac, we stopped for dinner on a lovely evening, but without previous TA research. NOT a good idea. The outdoor patio was nice, but the traffic was less pleasant (our fault for choosing outside). The food was passable. But it took forever for the order to be taken and as long again for the... We spent three days in Baie-St-Paul and tried many of this town restaurant (see my other reviews) This was the best restaurant. I had a Migneron (a local cheese) fondant as an appetizer. It was a very good dish, but a bit too sugary for my taste (there was possibly too much balsamic reduction on my plate). Then, I had... More

Had eaten previously at this restaurant and was quite impressed with the food and surrounding...so a return visit. Again the food was superb and service professional.

We only had a glass of wine and a bear because the menu did not have anything a vegetarian of a vegan would enjoy.

The local micro brew was $10 a pint ($2 more than down the road). I had a penne with mushrooms, a mystery meat (I just forget what I ordered), local cheese. The paste was firm and the dish tasted fine. My wife had a salad with sausage. She liked it. The room had a nice atmosphere. The service was very... More
