Orange Bistro - Fresh and tasty

Main courses are very good. Calamari is unique. Gaspacho is very refreshing and gravlox was tasty. I wouldn't rave about the deserts however. The service is quick and friendly however. The terasse is quite crowded and not very intimate.

We spent 4 nights with our teenage kids in Baie-St-Paul and had dinner here twice. What we tried and liked: beef tartar, pork ribs, poutine au Migneron.

We came for lunch as it was recommended in our tour book and was clearly packed to the rafters but I was disappointed by the food. Perhaps we ordered the wrong dishes but we tried the poutines which was just chips with gravy and grated cheese (not the cheese curd we were expecting) and the charcuterie/cheese platter which seemed rather... The eight of us were pleased to find a place that could seat all of us on a busy Saturday night. The service was friendly if a bit slow. Salads and chicken dishes were good. Excellent bread. Decent house wine. Not a bad choice and in the summer convenient parking next door.

Typical resto menu in this area – burgers, pasta, pizza, and most offer one form of tartare. All restaurants in Baie St-Paul seem to offer a similar menu. Today for lunch at L'Orange Bistro, we had their vegetable potage (excellent) and gazpacho (very acidic). Our mains were croque monsieur which is a grilled ham and cheese with béchamel (OK) and... We stop in the restaurant on our way back from a whale cruise at Baie Sainte Catherine, the place is nice and they have the option to seat in a front terrace or inside. Service was fine and orders served fast. Food was very good and above normal Bistro average. You could see an effort in trhing to make a... More

We ate lunch on a warm Sunday afternoon at L'Orange. Traffic (on foot, by car, and by horse carriage) was quite heavy, so we got to do plenty of people-watching from our table on the porch. As for the food, we had a Caesar salad topped by locally-made sausage and a pizza topped with local cheeses and vegetables. Both were... More

Yummy fondue! This is a must have in the winter in the Charlevoix region. I imagine it would be a bit hot to eat in the summer. This place seems like it could get very packed on weekends. I recommend reserving ahead of time. Free parking around back.
