The family arrived on a cold January evening along with two dogs and were made very welcome. The fire was burning and it was warm and cosy. We have been looking forward to visiting this pub having stayed in it's previous owners other pub in Llandovery. It is now under new ownership and I'm not sure it quite lived up to my expectations. We ordered fish & chips, which were excellent and cheesecake for dessert, which was tasty but the portion was far too large. We did... More

We stopped in for lunch, and as we have been eating in a lot of places in the last week, we were a little disappointed with the food which was ordinary and lacking imagination. Everything came with chips and peas.... The pie was nice and tasty, but with peas. Peas seem lazy as its obvious they are from the freezer... More

After dinner we decided to stop by for something sweet. The welcome was warm and had a family owned country feel to the restaurant. The value was outstanding as was the service. I would highly recommend this place to my friends.

The Christmas dinner we were served was very good but the service was incredibly slow. We had to ask for dessert about an hour after our main meal because we had obviously been forgotten about. Not enough staff for a Christmas Day. Meal out took so much longer than expected and we were late for our afternoon visitors. Good food... More

Firstly I have to comment that the food was excellent. A really tasty Christmas lunch! Well done to the chef and kitchen staff. The downside of our Christmas Day visit was the speed of the service and some of the finishing touches. Personally, for a Christmas lunch, I would expect proper napkins (not paper) and menus (not laminated). It's the... More

For a change, we decided to eat out this year. We went here (7 of us including 2 children )for Xmas lunch and I must say that it was the best one ever ... By far. The turkey was so moist , the sirloin beef just fell apart and the vegetables were cooked perfectly... The cauliflower cheese and parsnips were... More
