The landlord kindly fitted us in at the last moment..........I have to say the food and service was great, if a little pricey.............The chef sure knows how a side salad should look and taste, and overall the meal was faultless. Hospitable, clean, and well prepared. Small wonder it was a busy evening.......I would certainly recommend this little gem.

Only came here as the hotel I was staying in didn't serve food! Glad I did, good food and friendly service, pity I don't come this way very often.

We booked this pub for our post wedding buffet lunch and we were so impressed with the service, the spread, the staff and the pub itself. We were looking for a pub with outdoor space (shockingly few and far between) in this area we got more than we could have asked for, beautiful long beer garden for the children to... More

Really friendly bar tender. My husband asked for soul but kitchen was closed 30 minutes before but it was no problem, he got his soup. We also had dinner one night. Very good fresh food

Stopped off by chance with a mate at the Bell and was very happy with the find. Beer was varied and a good price and the food was very good as well. The Bell Chicken, the pub specialty, was delicious and a heck of a plate full - perfect after yomping hills for the day. Staff were absolutely lovely and... More

(Family of 4 with 2 older teenagers). Our b&b hosts recommended The Bell and since it was just across the street we decided to try it. We started the evening in the pub. The owner allowed the guys to tried some different beers and they found their favorite. We ordered a cheese tray to munch on (I know it is... More

When we drove past on a late Sunday afternoon, the presence of cars in the car park and people sitting in the garden led us to believe it would be a popular and passable place. The staff did not acknowledge us when we arrived and the atmosphere did not seem as friendly as other places we had visited nearby. As... More

This was a last minute booking and it couldn't have worked out better. Our room ( try for Room 1 ) was spacious and clean, ditto the bathroom. It's not luxury but it is good, comfortable accommodation and excellent value .( We liked the option of 2 rates per night - either with or without breakfast.) The proprietor, and all the staff, were friendly... More
