Good food, strange service, bit pricey

The food was good, but the service was a bit over-managed... A different person for every different thing, for showing to the table, for taking the drinks order, for bringing the drinks, for taking the food order, for bringing the food... And often when we were clearly ready for taking an order... read more

The best place about this Inn is its location beside the river with a view over the bridge. We had dinner indoors and enjoyed our meal there. The restaurant is graced with very red seats, but that apart the meal was good, the service was professional and pleasant and all in all it was a good experience. We had an... More

Lovely friendly pub with excellent beer and welcoming locals. I chose a trout which was perfectly cooked and served with ample portions of new potatoes and fresh vegetables - very good indeed. My husband was less enthusiastic about his Thai fishcakes - not really spicy enough and his choice of salad with it was pretty ordinary with enormous tough lettuce... More

This inn is beautifully located on the river Usk with a beer garden offering great views of the river and the hills beyond. staff is friendly and helpful. They also do very nice pork pies produced by the local butcher.

Eaten at the Bridge End a number of times and it never disappoints. My T Bone steak was excellent as was my wife's lasagne. Plenty of vegetables to accompany the meal and service was first class as usual. Howard and his team are to be applauded in providing unpretentious good wholesome food. Make sure you are hungry before you visit... More

We had a table of eight to enjoy the company of friends visiting from Australia. The menu is quite large with lots of choice including a few specials. Whilst it is typical pub food the quality and presentation of the meals is very good. Portions are generous. They obviously have a good chef. Prices are reasonable. Service was a little slow... More

Great location for a bar snack and a well kept pint of beer sitting outside on the side of the Usk. Menu selection is reasonable with something for everyone, our meal was freshly prepared and well presented and the portions were adequate. However the highlight of the evening was the draught Bass which was sublime, worth a visit for the... More

it was a lovely sunny day and there were a number of guests waiting for tables. staff suggested our meal may take 45 mins. we waited for 1.5 hours (and perhaps should have walked out earlier). the meal portions were tasty but small, and i couldnt believe the size of pork medallion i had (1/4 size of a normal one),... Mid week evening meal very good as always lots of vegetables and tasty but a bit slow in service but that is because all meals are freshly prepared. The position is wonderful right alongside the bridge by the rippling waterfall - especially on a summer's evening. Lovely spot to have a pint and a snack sitting by the riverside in... More

We were looking for a place for lunch and came upon this restaurant. Two of us are vegetarians, and two of us are decidedly not. The two vegetarians looked at the menu and found possibilities for them. It was Sunday and the restaurant served traditional roasts, as my mother had done when I was growing up, so this was a...
