Good pint and great pork pie

This inn is beautifully located on the river Usk with a beer garden offering great views of the river and the hills beyond. staff is friendly and helpful. They also do very nice pork pies produced by the local butcher.

Eaten at the Bridge End a number of times and it never disappoints. My T Bone steak was excellent as was my wife's lasagne. Plenty of vegetables to accompany the meal and service was first class as usual. Howard and his team are to be applauded in providing unpretentious good wholesome food. Make sure you are hungry before you visit... More

We had a table of eight to enjoy the company of friends visiting from Australia. The menu is quite large with lots of choice including a few specials. Whilst it is typical pub food the quality and presentation of the meals is very good. Portions are generous. They obviously have a good chef. Prices are reasonable. Service was a little slow... More

Great location for a bar snack and a well kept pint of beer sitting outside on the side of the Usk. Menu selection is reasonable with something for everyone, our meal was freshly prepared and well presented and the portions were adequate. However the highlight of the evening was the draught Bass which was sublime, worth a visit for the... More

it was a lovely sunny day and there were a number of guests waiting for tables. staff suggested our meal may take 45 mins. we waited for 1.5 hours (and perhaps should have walked out earlier). the meal portions were tasty but small, and i couldnt believe the size of pork medallion i had (1/4 size of a normal one),... Mid week evening meal very good as always lots of vegetables and tasty but a bit slow in service but that is because all meals are freshly prepared. The position is wonderful right alongside the bridge by the rippling waterfall - especially on a summer's evening. Lovely spot to have a pint and a snack sitting by the riverside in... More

We were looking for a place for lunch and came upon this restaurant. Two of us are vegetarians, and two of us are decidedly not. The two vegetarians looked at the menu and found possibilities for them. It was Sunday and the restaurant served traditional roasts, as my mother had done when I was growing up, so this was a... After a 10 mile hike we were ready for a cheeky pint. The San Miguel was lovely (and cheap compared to London prices). The beer garden is right beside the Usk and is in a gorgeous spot. We didn't have any food here and what we saw looked cling filmed to within an inch of its life. It was a... More

Lunch was very mediocre and would not be in a hurry to return. The staff were nice enough but the food was all very bland. Ham was tasteless potatoes were very tired.

We met with friends for what I had expected would be a good lunch. Well, I and the rest of our party were to be disappointed. I chose what was billed as cod in beer batter. The fish was overly soft and tasteless inside the flaccid batter. The home-cooked ham received the thumbs down and the lasagne had an oily... More
