Too many chances.....

Have eaten here on half a dozen occasions and food was poor, at best, on 5 visits. The worst experiences involved a kind of rissole/scotch egg that was not properly defrosted and tepid soup. The problem lies with the fact that the menu is vast, so food cannot possibly be freshly cooked. We... read more

A good selection of teas [tea pigs], coffees and cakes. They also do hot food and lunches but we only wanted a cream tea. We will definitely return as the service was good and the food was nice.

maybe not the most comfortable place but the food makes up for it. always great specials on the board to compliment the menu. price is very good and the service with smiling waiters and waitresses. always busy but worth squeezing yourself in.

Me and my boyfriend have been regulars in Food For Thought for years. You can always count on the grate service, grate food and drinks and grate atmosphere. It is a very busy place all year round, even after they extended the place; but its always worth the wait.

My partner and I have recently visited, both opting for the full cooked breakfast. They took a while to arrive but it was good to know things were freshly cooked to order They were well presented and very tasty. Unfortunately towards the end of my breakfast I found two hairs on my plate (not mine) I highlighted this to the... More

Wifey had an excellent soup, I went for the toasty, and we both had an enjoyable break. Lovely staff, and the owner helped us out with some restaurant advice while we were on our trip away.

I'm guilty of being labelled a creature of habit, because if we are in the area this place is a must visit and visit we do! But then why wouldn't you when they serve excellent coffees, chilli hot chocolate and a huge selection of Tea Pigs teas? The food is superb with a wide range available and a wonderful special... We have visited Cafe Food for Thought several times now and have been very impressed with the quality of the freshly cooked food, range of choice including a specials board and the polite and prompt service. On the occasions we visited it was very busy, but we were not kept waiting particularly as the food was mainly cooked to order.
