First things first the food was really tasty and was very good quality, if it doesn't look too busy inside I'd definitely recommend coming in to eat. For our table the service was fairly incompetent though... To be fair it was a busy Sunday brunch but it took over 40 minutes for; one eggs on toast, one mushrooms on toast... More

Great atmosphere. We could spend all day there and sometimes did! Had regular breakfasts there - at least three times, lunch - mostly homemade soup and afternoon tea ,scones and cake. All freshly baked daily. Weather wasn't great but hey!! you're spoilt for choice in Ullapool. So many places to eat and drink and read! Don't miss the live music,... More

We had an evening meal here. The main courses were enjoyed by all. My lamb cutlets were very tender. However desserts were hit and miss. The fool was lovely but the "roulade" was a disappointment being more sponge than true roulade and overly sweet. Also echo earlier comment about some staff being a bit sulky. This would not put me... Great restaurant. Wonderful service from hostesses and waiter we had. Food was all high level. We had the soup of the day and the pate to start, both perfect. We had the halibut as a main dish and it was delicious. The place is spacious, cheerful and cozy at the same time. A major surprise, and prices entirely reasonable. Great restaurant... More

This was my second visit to this bookshop. I really enjoyed browsing and came away with a few books. The manager is really helpful if you can't find what you want. There is a good selection of Gaelic books. I can't wait to make another visit.

Really nice restaurant, haddock chowder starter and dressed crab main. Local and lovely. I would go back, a little pricey but really felt the meal befitted the location

Food was excellently cooked and beautifully presented by well trained staff in a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. Open all year Ceilidh Place not only offers fabulous meals, whether you would like a light meal or a three course dinner. Quality ingredients are generally locally sourced and the home-made cakes are a must. Best to book during holiday season.

Our last night of vacation, we wanted somewhere nice. They take bookings and had nine left but managed to squeeze us in. Great selection of food and great choices of wine. Think trendy portobello road or Notting hill transposed to scotland and tables in large conservatory. Chowder was superb, the only thing not from the see was Ariel!! When your... More

Didn't eat here but had coffee and brandies each evening we were here. Really good quality and excellent to be able to peruse the bookshop and photo and art exhibitions late into the evening. A good place to go.
