A terrible dining experience. The Rosshire smoked cheese burger lacked cheese and the meat was horrible. The beef casserole was made using very poor cuts of meat and looked like sludge with a handful of rosemary thrown into it (death by rosemary). The monkfish cheeks dish was prepared with an unusual spice combination - not pleasant. The Cranachan was a... More

We stayed in Ullapool for one night at a local hotel and wished that we had booked to stay here as it was infinitely more appealing! Food was delicious, staff friendly and welcoming and the celidh place itself was comfortable and inviting with its huge log burner and bookshop! Very happy customers thanks! We'll be back 👍

Had our chips in the afternoon, so thought we'd try something a bit different for our evening meal. Not disappointed. The dishes my wife and I had (braised ox cheeks / crab and leek tart) were excellent and well cooked and presented. The restaurant was very nice and the staff very attentive.

I have been eating here for years and every time we come it great . what drives them on, what keeps it good Each visit I worry the magic may have slipped. Yet each vista re affirms my faith that some places just keep it good. They get good food, they cook it well. and they serve it with enthusiasm... More

Went for breakfast on a Sunday morning, I love The Ceilidh Place, we always pop in when we visit Ullapool, its such a nice atmosphere with great decor and the log burner was roaring. There were more staff than customers but we had to get someone's attention to order our food. We received our drinks promptly but the staff didn't... More

Needed a decent breakfast because our B and B wasn't providing breakfast right now. We are glad we found this. We had a simple breakfast of porridge and filled rolls, all of which were well done. Coffee and tea was equally good

This is a very average restaurant but at least they had one type of An Teallach beer on tap. Their fish choices are dependent on the catch that day and perhaps we caught them on an off day. (no pun intended)

It didn't start well - I arrived and was greeted abruptly by the waitress who seemed confused that I was waiting to be seated - the dining area was empty except for one table and I didn't want to just make myself at home! I enquired about a cooked breakfast which I saw another guest was having and was told... More

I ordered Fish and Chips as usually you get a reasonably sized serving. I was very disappointed in the size of fish. It was as though they had cut down the spine to make 2 fish out of 1. It was tasty enough but a small serving for the price. I informed the waiter I was given the smallest serving... More
