Had a lovely evening meal here. Nice atmosphere and friendly and knowledgeable staff. There is a good choice on the menu, especially seafood and a very extensive wine range.

We have been eating here since 1974 and have always enjoyed our meals. This time we had mussels and they were simply gorgeous. The food is sourced from locality where possible. The staff are very helpful. Definitely recommend it as well the lovely town and area.

We enjoyed drinks and dinner here. The food was good and the wait staff, while young, inexperienced adventurers, were friendly and engaging.

The food was excellent including local seafood. The hot smoked salmon was especially delicious. The service was prompt and friendly and we thought it was good value for such a high quality meal. Add to that a busy little bar, a very well stocked book shop and an outside terrace when the weather is pleasant and this would be very hard... More

Great little place, located next to a fabulous bookshop. Good choice of well prepared food in the menu and friendly staff. Pulled pork gap not as good as the one in The Old Bridge at Aviemore though!

Delightful front terrace gets the sun and you couldn't wish for a nicer lunch spot. Our haddock and chips was excellent as was the local IPA. Dog bowl available for thirsty pooch so everyone happy.

The Ceilidh Place was busy on the evening when we went, and I can see why. The menu has some intriguing items and so does the wine list. I had the hot-smoked salmon for a starter and the venison casserole for a main course. They were both excellent, as were the white Spanish and pinotage wines. But the people in... More

Great little spot, doesn't look like much from the outside but is really great inside! Good seafood, good soup, good wine! Can't complain, plus the staff were extra nice!

The laid back atmosphere, incredibly pleasant staff and service and delicious home cooked fresh meals makes The Ceilidh Place a winner in my eyes. The wine is oh so good and the coffee excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our smoked hake with mash, spinach and parsley sauce, lamb casserole (which you would swear your grannie was in the kitchen cooking herself)... More
