Had a dreadful main course at the Seaforth (hint, don't have the mussels). Moved on to the Ceilidh Place where a big bearded waiter (owner?) made us very welcome. Great atmosphere, spectacular desserts and great coffee. What a difference great customer service makes.

Although we had booked for dinner we had arrived in Ullapool earlier in the afternoon and called in for coffee and scones. The place has the appearance of a cafe and bar with a relaxed air aided by the adjoining bookshop. We took a table fairly close to where there had obviously been roof leakage as reported in another review;... More

I love this place and have stayed here several times. The food is (still) good. The bar is excellent and the bookshop great. The staff, however, seem poorly trained and often unmotivated. The physical state of the place is still OK but wearing thin. Very much redeemable but needs work!

Service was slow and staff generally uninterested. It was a Sunday early afternoon and it was not busy. No reason for the slow service as there was staff going around.

We called in here for lunch when having a day out in Ullapool. It was a beautiful day and wanted to sit outside but all seats taken. We went inside and found a great atmosphere. The staff were really helpful and the menu interesting. Pleased to find mussels on the menu and my partner had haggis, both really tasty. The... More

The roof is still leaking with food containers on the floor to catch the rain. The wi fi doesn't work. The track spotlights are like the ones I chucked onto a skip in the 1970's. The varnish on the tables is worn. All in all the Ceilidh Place could desperately use some TLC and investment. I've been going there for... More

Prompt, friendly staff served delicious fresh food. The restaurant is pretty with bright colourful flowers. We were very impressed with the immaculate toilet facilities that offered fresh, clean hand towels. Would definately visit again.

Had dinner here the other night. The food was excellent, though on the more pricy side for Ullapool. The Terrine was good, maybe a bit dry, but definitely tasty. Portion size reasonable. I had the mussels, without the cream which was OK, but the garlic element was definitely powerful. The courgette my wife had was good. Food arrived very quickly,... More
