Nice open atmosphere with friendly staff. Large wine, whisky and drinks list. Had a small order of mussels to start and smoked hake for main course. Both very good.

Excellent food, as locally grown as possible, including the beers. I had a malty, smokey porter and Sher had a local IPA, both suggestions of the maitre d'. For dinner I had pork chops with an apple compote and black pudding (excellent) and Sher had potato gnocchi in a cream sauce. We each had soup, fennel almond for me and... More

We enjoyed a brilliant dinner here last year. The bookshop is enchanting, and the menu choices are heavenly. We highly recommend the Ceilidh Place. It has been a favourite of ours for years, and the quality always surpasses our expectations. Kudos to the management for making such a fantastic, locavore menu.

We came here for coffee on Saturday and then returned again on Sunday for breakfast and coffee...we shared breakfast which was a little average tasting especially for what we paid. But the coffee was nice.

I liked that the older part of the place has been kept intact (dark, woody look) but there's also the glassed ceiling and big windows part, bright and open looking to the lovely back garden. Staff were sweet. Soup was great. My son enjoyed the venison burger. They were setting up for an exhibit in the back - the place... More

A trendy looking place, very different to the other places in Scotland we have been to during this trip. Service is great. The menu different, international. We all had something different and it was all delicious. I had the best fish I have eaten in Scotland. The restaurant has a bookstore so you can browse and/or buy books before and... More

The food is good, and reasonably priced. The staff are pleasant and helpful. There is a bookshop attached to the restaurant, which is open in the evening. There was also an interesting art exhibition when we were there. Good selection of beer, wine and malt whiskies.

Food ok but not spectacular, burger with beef from the area (Ross-shire). Nice local ale. Service friendly and fast.
