The Argyll is a popular hotel with a restaurant and sociable bar. We offer a good quality, locally sourced menu of local Highland steaks, seafood, weekly specials and vegetarian options. The Argyll is a relaxed and friendly place with a well stocked bar, real ales and draught ciders, cocktail menu, good range of malt whisky and wines. We have a real log fire most of the year round and offer regular live music and entertainment.

We're told on phone that we could eat in the bar which we wanted to do because there was music on later. It also said on the web that they had a wide range of beers and cider on tap. They only had a few beers and no cider on tap this is one of the reasons we booked a... read more

I cannot believe how much we paid for our rooms and the service we got in return! We booked a family Room and a double, the rooms were dirty and dust was on every surface. Went to open the window and the handle fell off?! The communal bathroom was okay, toilet was always dirty? Are we supposed to clean up... More

Firstly I would just like to say I'm local to the village and on a last min wim to come visit friends for the night with our wee dog, I asked the bar man Neil do you still have your double room available that was on booking.com an hour ago? To be told NO! So I asked why is your... More

Went for a pint with a mate for his birthday and wished we hadn't bothered! the barman was a right miserable old git and unfriendly (I later found out his Nickname is "the weasel" quite fitting really) I won't be back!

Great food, Glad I did not have a starter as main course was huge. Sadly to say no dessert either. Good choices. Left room for casked conditioned ale though. Friendly service and advice. Entertainment nights - varied. Dogs welcomed.

Had dinner here last week. Although there are many choices (pubs) for eating in Ullapool, Argyll is a better choice for a more proper and formal dinner providing yummy food. I had fish of the day - seabass which was beautifully presented and tastes great. Fresh and yum at good price. Staff was friendly. The bar at Argyll which is... More

We spent a few hours in the bar, we didn't try the restaurant as though the bar is pet friendly the restaurant is not. Nice friendly atmosphere, I think there was going to be music on the Saturday evening but we left just before this, in the hunt for food.

Tried this hotel for tea last Sunday and was very disappointed.we had to wait 3/4 of an hour before our order was taken.we were told this when we arrived but the bar wasn't really that busy but we waited anyway.on the recommendation of the waiter I ordered fish cakes but couldn't eat them, what he didn't say was that they... I would not say that Ullapool has a great choice of places to eat but this one I have found to be consistently good. You have a choice of eating in the bar (where there is freqently entertainment) or the restaurant at the back. Excellent home cooked food at a reasonable price. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Would recommend... More
