Evening meal at the Argyll. Starter portions were huge, mains were well presented and desserts to die for.

Booked the restaurant at the back and found the menu to be extremely good >The young waitress who was very busy was very helpful and chatty which helps make your visit more enjoyable. Our meal was really good and reasonably priced so would recommend. The pub downstairs was very busy with live music However felt "STUNG" and ripped off when charged nearly... Really laid back ambience and excellent food. Staff attentive and helpful. Good to be able to move freely between the bar and the restaurant. Good music in background - not intrusive at all - very much in the background but an interesting choice of sounds. highly recommended for a relaxing evening.

Ate here 4 evenings whilst on holiday in Ullapool. The staff were friendly and the food was very good quality. The fish cakes were very good and the haddock and chips deemed to be the best of all that we sampled locally.

Called in for a quick drink - the bar was well staffed, but not very well stocked - no choice of beers on tap! The bar lacked atmosphere, needed a good paint and decorate and the carpets looked rather grotty.

We were served by a really friendly girl who was very efficient and helpful. We had butternut squash and sweet potato soup served with beautiful homemade bread then haddock and chips which delicious. My husband had apple crumble and custard which was homemade and really lovely. I am surprised it was quiet but maybe because it was a Sunday night.... More

The food is good and the bar staff are extremely nice and helpful. The manager seems grumpy but I am not sure he really is. I have eaten here 3 times and would eat there again. The Salmon was the best I have tasted in Scotland.

The Argyll was the best pub in Ullapool for us with a nice carpet on the floor and friendly people serving us whisky and beer. Monday night has live folk music sessions with lots of local musicians joining in. We very much enjoyed this! The restaurant behind the pub is not so cosy but despite that still our favorite place... My King Prawn Thai. Red. Curry was brilliant. Unfortunately my Mum wasn't as pleased with her steak pie and her vegetables (which she complained about) were like bullets

Lovely pub with excellent live performances. Nice selections of beer/ales and whisky. Would certainly be a stop when I return.
