Have been there a few times and Keith always makes us welcome. Took my Dad for a special boys evening out meal. Food was faultless and always with an interesting twist. Only one sitting per evening so you never feel rushed. Just go relax and enjoy the journey. Need to book way in advance though.

This really is a most delightful spot to savour good food, well cooked and well served. Keith and Mary run this lovely restaurant with simple efficiency . They both share the duties and both have a touch to be admired . The decor is smart never over the top , but bright , clean and a joy to relax and... More

Having moved back to Scotland almost a year ago I am always interested to try out new places A friend introduced us to this restaurant, and she explained that because it is small but popular you may have to wait a few weeks to try out your table. We did and the wait was really worthwhile The greeting was very... More

Still fantastic - can't say any more. Read other people's reviews, or our previous two. Outstanding!

We had lunch here and it has been a while since we've had such a great meal. The food is perfection. My taste buds were sooo happy. Everything was wonderful: service, timing, presentation, food preparation. A special place.

We booked a table for 10 at "La Pot" for a family lunch to celebrate a birthday. A friendly welcome and great service throughout were all part of a wonderful lunch. The starters of ham hock terrine and cream of leek and lovage soup were delicious with fabulous lamb and sea bass as mains. To finish the desserts of Thai... More

A friend inviting us to stay in Gullane made eating at La Potiniere viable as a drive home after was not required. The restaurant is compact but we did not have the feeling we were sitting on top of each other. After an interesting amuse-bouche the starter of hamhock with foie gras was superb, for those who can eat it.... More

Holidaying in the area and having eaten at Chez Roux the previous evening, we opted for a change of scenery at La Potiniere. Food was very good (although being close to the kitchen, did we hear the microwave ping a few times?) But its the set up that lets things down a little. No-one to greet us at door, so... More

After a spell away, we managed to get a reservation here just a few days in advance. That is how popular it is. Food was excellent with a scallop starter delicious to taste and well presented. The Thai soup with coconut and fish cake was good too. The menu choice is limited and only fish or lamb for the main... More

I have been enjoying La Potiniere for special occasions at lunchtime for many years with family and friends and have never been disappointed. Their attention to detail, pride in their locally sourced produce and value for money cannot be matched. Just make sure you allocate the time (2 hours) to enjoy the whole experience
