We always enjoy the choice of sandwiches, wraps, homemade soup and good choice of cakes. The seating area has been extended to the rear which has eleviated (on our visits) the having to reserve issue that has been experienced before, that said we have never had to wait long for a table. Always friendly welcome and well priced. Our kelso... More

We popped in on a very cold Saturday after being abandoned by our menfolk who had found a pub in which to watch the football. We had planned on walking around Kelso until the game was finished, but it was far too cold, especially with 4 young children in tow, so we popped in here (they even allowed us to... More

We went in for lunch just before New Years Eve and the place was heaving. The service was quick and the waitress very apologetic because they had run out of soup. Had a beaked spud with coronation chicken instead, which had enourmous chunks of chicken. The luxury hot chocolate was to die for. I wish we lived closer i'd never... More

Called just after Christmas for lunch; not disappointed. Great homemade soup and the sandwich came with a decent salad and dressing, the latter all too rare. Service friendly and efficient. Atmosphere great and venue warm on a sub-zero day.

This has become a popular destination so it is best to book at lunchtimes. The menu is varied and interesting. I like the baked tatties and my wife likes the haggis and beetroot panini! It is popular with all ages and caters well for small children with toys available. Simple surroundings with a friendly service and home cooking.

I was in Keslo in late September with 3 others. We had just visited the Garden Centre in town and had a look around the shops. We actually passed up; the Hoot 'n' Cat and piled in the car a drove to Floors Castle for lunch, but after looking at the menu, decided it was too dear for lunch and... More
