Great

Went for lunch on a Tuesday and it was very busy. A varied menu and a great selection of baked treats. Staff friendly.

Enjoyed a coronation chicken sandwich, it's had a delicious kick to it. The cafe was full. Staff very friendly and efficient. Only gripe was that it was uncomfortably hot, just took the edge off my visit. Must book if coming with a large party, I have never seen this cafe quiet.

Well it's not the first time that ive ordered an americano only to be given a cup of filter coffee but charged for an americano. An americano is two espressos topped with hot water, not filter coffee. Won't be back I'm afraid.

Stopped here for a quick snack whilst visiting Kelso. Me, my wife and our 6 year old granddaughter. The staff were very friendly. The place is quite nice (you can see how it's developed over time) and comfortable. There are even sofas and coffee tables if you prefer. We had a couple of panninis (couldn't get a child's portion) and... More

you are always made to feel welcome. Susan and her staff set a high standard in looking after you. Fare is simple but always fresh ranging from scrumptious home made soup to daily specials. Whether freshly made sandwiches, bagettes or paninis to a fab range of cakes and traybake, you know you'll enjoy it.

Just popped in for Coffee. Excellent choice of cakes and scones on offer. Quick prompt service, clean, very busy most tables occupied and large table near door reserved for lunchtime. Will certainly call back, good choice for lunchtime available.Much nicer inside than it looks from the front. Seating outside for sunny days, can get four seasons in one day in... More

We researched coffee stops in Kelso prior to cycling from Berwick to Innerleithen, and chose Hoot n Cat. We weren't disappointed! Comfortable and warm, with great hospitality and a good selection of cakes (the lunch menu looked good too), it provided welcome respite from the westerly wind. Thank you!

My hubby took me for a lunch today and we have really enjoyed it at Hoot 'n' Cat. It is great cosy place for a quick meal. I had brie & cranberry ciabata and my hubby had coronation chicken wrap - both were fresh and tasty, with lots of fresh salad and coleslaw. Our lunch came within minutes! There was... More
