Not being a fan of the patties in a bun you get on the high street, I love a good burger and the burgers here are really good. I had the vension burger, tasty and full of flavour, and my brother had the Aberdeen Angus which he pronounced to be excellent. Also a plus that they serve real ales, so... More

Went for lunch - was not busy. Waited for order to be taken - and waited - and waited Watching the waiters and waitresses was like watching an action replay - everything seemed in slow motion - to take forever. Walked out eventually Decor was quite nice though.

Having visited this restaurant last month and had a very enjoyable meal I was keen to return however unfortunately on the second occasion I was very disappointed. My husband and I ordered the Sunday roast, mine was beef, a little tough but edible. My husband's pork was very fatty and tough and he therefore left most of it. The accompanying... More

We only just managed to get a table on a Friday night - we had to eat early (615) but it was well worth it. I had beetroot infused smoked salmon with beetroot sorbet, crisps and jelly for starters, my hubbie had the quail. Both were excellent an imaginatively served. My main was peri peri bean burger and hubbie opted... More

We discovered the Cobbles on our first visit to the Borders, and loved it, so it was a "must try again" on our visit this summer. It didn't disappoint! The service is warm, friendly and efficient; the food is wonderful. Nothing too out there - just well prepared, with a touch of creativity and always very fresh. Only one observation... More

I have always been a fan of the Cobbles but with every visit it appears the portion sizes keep getting smaller. I visited last week and had a 3 course meal and left the restaurant still hungry? Mussels to start tasted nice but there were a maximum of 10-12 mussels with 3 or 4 of them still closed and inedible... More

Dear Sonic987 We are very disappointed to read your review. Firstly I would like to point out that 10-12 mussels in a starter dish is ample however the fact that 3-4 of these were closed is not acceptable. If this was the case, it should have been brought to the attention of the Restaurant Manager immediately so that he had... More

Visited on TripAdvisor reviews and well worth the 30 min drive. Excellent food, great service, good beer, one could not ask for more! Left totally stuffed for the reminder of the day :)

A fantastic range of high quality beer from their own brewery. Would recommend an early booking if you also want to sample their food.

Ate here twice during a short break in the borders. Friendly and attentive staff and the bar / restaurant had a really good atmosphere. Food on both occasions was well cooked / presented and very tasty. Puds were especially good! Menu blended traditional and more modern cuisine, and represented excellent value for money. There also seemed a genuine effort to... More

Restaurant with friendly wait staff, a long local presence, and locally brewed ale. Right near the square. You must eat here at least once during your visit.
