Visited here on 17/02/15 for a midweek family treat. Whilst not the biggest choice of menu (perhaps because a Tuesday evening) nor the cheapest place we've visited, I would definitely recommend it. Steak pie in 'Tempest' pastry crust was delicious and the portion size was so large we wished we hadn't had starters! Was quite busy for a Tuesday evening... More

We stopped off here on a Sunday evening for some dinner with our two young children. Very friendly and attentive staff as soon as we walked through the door. Kids were well catered for and the atmosphere was welcoming to them. I am a vegetarian and there was only one item on the menu which I really didn't like so... More

We had a very good meal, the atmosphere was good, it was busy but what made the night was the fabulous live music which happens every Friday night when local musicians pop in and play together. Mostly folk and country, but what superb musicians! They were all very friendly and encouraged everyone to join in the singing of songs like... More

Popped in for lunch yesterday and had a two minute wait for our table to be cleared. We ordered our drinks which arrived soon after. Then we ordered food, I had haddock in oatmeal which was absolutely lovely. Cooked to perfection. The waiting staff were really nice, even though they did appear very busy! I think the Cobbles have maybe... More

We had been away for a few days holiday in Northumberland and had experienced excellent meals (Doxford Hall,The White Swan) and those which were poor -The Pack Horse Inn, Ellingham). We decided to stop off en route at the Cobbles in Kelso. A delightful experience- great food, an accommodating chief and professional service. We have visited on 3 previous occasions... More
