In the lead up to Xmas I invited by sister, husband and 2 daughters for lunch @ The Cobbles on 17th Dec. They hadn't visited the restaurant before - I have, several times. One of my guests was a Vegan with quite demanding requirements - I'd mentioned it when booking and was assured the chef could cater very well for... More

Dear Pat We are very disappointed to read your negative review of our restaurant. I do not know of any complaints made on Sunday past so I must presume that you didn't bring your dissatisfaction to the attention of the Serving Staff at the time. This is a shame because you didn't give us the opportunity to serve you a... More

We came here after a walk around Kelso and the food was excellent. We had a selection of starters between the table (try the haggis bon bons or the potato skins) followed by some extremely good mains (Sunday roast was good but my fish pie was brilliant). The selection of craft beer on tap was good and the staff were... More

My husband and I were visiting Kelso on a wet and dreary day. Found this restaurant and thought it would cheer us up. We hadn't booked but they found us a table, I would definitely book next time. We had their famous local steak pie which was one of the best we have tasted, char grilled veg and hand cut... More

We were a group of four on a short stay for the horse racing at Kelso. Had a good day there with some small winnings that put us in a good mood for dining. The good mood continued as the service on the night was particularly good by the waiter, Allana. She was very attentive and was knowledgeable about the... More

We were staying in Kelso for the weekend and booked this restaurant in advance for the first night, it was excellent. The staff were most welcoming, the food was very good (one of the best steaks I've had) and the service faultless. For our second night we'd booked another well-reviewed restaurant in Kelso but we only had two courses there... More

Being locals we go into Cobbles when ever we are in town, today popped in for lunch. The bar staff were more interested in each other than serving customers, once served ordered 2 burgers. Husbands was unremarkable in terms of flavour, mine was downright awful - the burger patty had gone off, the smell was revolting, how the kitchen staff... More

Dear Tendele, I am sorry that you had the experience that you did while dining with us on Saturday lunch time. I am truly at a loss to explain what has happened with your burger? You and your husband both had burgers made from the same batch of patties that were made by our sous chef the previous day. We... More

Living within 10 minutes of Kelso, we feel lucky to have a couple of outstanding options for a meal out in town. Oscars is one, The Cobbles the other. The food at The Cobbles is superb and the menus are original and also changed regularly, so there is always something new to catch your attention. The beer, supplied by in-house... More

The beer from their own brewery is excellent . The food is good. The service on some occasions was outstanding and friendly. On other occasions we felt that we were being treated almost rudely, for example when I enquired about the types of beer. I love beer and we have at least 8 'microbreweries' in our home town, so this... More
