Paid a visit to the Cobbles at the recommendation of our hosts at the Guest House we were staying in. Lovely bar area with delicious craft beer available. The menu was very good with excellent choices. Unfortunately the restaurant had lost our order after waiting for our food for 40mins. We were tempted to leave but asked whether they could... More

Dear steem21, I am saddened to read that you did not have a great service experience when you visited us. We have been having issues with our kitchen printer which has now been replaced and this has caused us to miss the odd check now and again. We have usually been able to discover the issue when the problem occurs... More

Went to the Cobbles to catch up with an old friend. Great steak pie for me and my dining companion disappeared behind a number of dishes for her curry! Try the in house beer, really good. Staff very polite, friendly and attentive. Thoroughly recommend this dining experience!

We happened upon this place last night and WOW. The beer (it is also a microbrewery) was excellent and my husband was given several to try. We ate very well indeed: pate, smoked salmon with an array of amazing beet root flavours, steak ( they know their beef here ) and the pie of a lifetime. Service was friendly and... More

Had lunch here and we both opted for a salmon tagliatelle dish. Lovely, creamy and delicious, although probably not very good for your health! It was my first time in here and I enjoyed the overall ambience. Service was excellent.

Called in on a Friday evening, just before rush hour, no reservation, Jim Clark rally all over town, expecting to be turned away - very warm welcome, engaging staff, good food and service, good choice of beers, highly recommended.
