Very popular pub in the centre of Lacock. It was very busy when we arrived but managed to find a few separate tables (there was 10 of us). Staff were lovely and very professional. Told us straight away that there was no chips on the menu. We had some lovely sandwiches and soup. Would've liked to have tried an evening... More

My sister, myself & partners had the best lunch here, The Red Lion in Lacock, that we have enjoyed in a very long time! Chicken & Bacon salad: wonderful and the dressing and chips delicious; Fresh Haddock and chips, sumptuous but not expensive. Bakewell Tart and Raspberry Sorbet ~ excellent and the BEST sorbet I have ever tasted! Thank-you Chef... More

In spite of it being a very busy weekend in Lacock (Lacock at War weekend) we managed to reserve a table for 9 at the Red Lion and our order was taken quickly. We envisaged a long wait for the food but it was in fact under half an hour before we were served. The food was good and the... More

It's a year since the last Lacock at War weekend, so we were back for Sunday lunch today. This is without doubt the busiest event hosted in the village, but finding an indoor table for two (to avoid the wasps) was difficult, yet possible. Once seated, we were fore-warned that any food order could take an hour, and given that... More

A good pub with decent food. The menu was not too extensive but good choice. The staff were friendly and helpful, the range of drinks good and the food was mostly excellent. The one problem was that I ordered a steak, medium rare. The first one came out a little past well done and at £20 it seemed rather off.... More

Roast turkey was excellent and so was the cider; it does have alcohol. Excellent atmosphere and is very pub like. We enjoyed it very much. The service like most places in England has been a little slow.

The Red Lion Pub in the Wiltshire Village of Lacock is not a National Trust property: most of the village is. This village was the location for bits of Harry Potter and Lark Rise to Candleford and is the site of the Fox Talbot museum; it's well worth a visit. When one has strolled-and-photographed, it is highly likely that a... More

The Red Lion is a great place to eat in the evening. Despite its location, it is actually not too busy in the evenings. Menu is fairly simple, though the food is excellent and good value for money in contrast to other places in the local area. Staff are always friendly, service is prompt and the pub has character.
