Beautiful place....

It's a really beautiful hotel/pub/restaurant situated in one of the most popular villages in UK, I just think the food could be better, use local food not 'oven chips'!

Getting to a pub at lunchtime is a little bit like doing a comedy routine, its all about the timing.! I say that because we went in for lunch at 12.15,and by 12.30 pm the place is beginning to fill up.This was due to the fact that a couple of mini busses were arriving on the their tour of the Cotswolds.... The Red Lion is an excellent village pub with a great atmosphere, and a great range of real ales. Four of us went there for an evening meal, two had the Salmon, and two the large fish and chips. The Salmon was fine, as was the fish and chips, BUT one portion of fish was 1/3rd the size of the... More

Popped in tor lunch. A well rounded country pub, sticking with tradition. Friday we cold and staff very professional. A good selection of food and drink. Very relaxed atmosphere and child friendly. If your visiting Lacock, pop in.

Four of us had lunch there, typical friendly pub. Orders have to be placed at the bar as they will not take them from the table, our waitress apologising when we were given the menu for pudding that she would get into trouble if she took our order. The food was very good with no complaints and portions generous.

Came here on a Monday evening, so as expected it was nice and quiet so finding a table was no issue. Very warm welcome from the landlady, who was happy to set up a tab so I could settle at the end. Food arrived very promptly after ordering, and the soup was piping hot and delicious, as was the lasagne... More

A lovely pub in the quaint village of Lacock a place where you feel like you have gone into the past. The pub was warm and welcoming with friendly staff. We had the Sunday roast which tasted very nice , I had lamb. For dessert I had the sticky toffee pudding which was lovely too. Our friends paid but I... More

The Red Lion has a nice menu and the views outside are very nice. The staff didn't help me much in deciding on what to eat when I asked for advice. The odd thing was that others who ordered after us received their food. And we received our food in an odd order. Two received our food and two others... More

2 years ago we booked a Christmas meal with family members it was superb, last Christmas we did the same thing and the meals were average to poor. Being fair minded people we put it down to an off day. Today we drove 40 miles to have a birthday meal at the Red Lion and must say that we were... More

Lovely meal had here with relatives. Being local I have always favoured The George but having had such an awful welcome from their current landlady, we chose to walk over to The Red Lion. We received Excellent food and service from all staff and were all in agreement that this is now our favoured pub in the Village. (Helped somewhat... More
