A little disappointed

We come here for lunch a few times a year as it is a lovely place and is only a sort walk from home. On this occasion we left a little dis appointed, the portions were very small and the menu a little bit fussy.. Having said that we had a very enjoyable lunch, great setting, excellent service and... read more

A truly exciting menu enhanced with a great atmosphere and very helpful staff. The mackerel dish was sublime and the deserts were naughty but nice!

Booked late and got a 6.30 slot. Reception were great asking if we would like a drink at bar or lounge. Met by Maitre d' who explained menu and options. I'd pre warned them I was diabetic and they had prepared a special dessert and gave advice on other dishes to suit my diet requirements. The dinner was superb and... More

We had lunch here and the food was very good with the exception of the starters of salmon and mackerel not quite hitting the mark on taste. The main courses of plaice and duck were very good as were the desserts. The staff were generally good but certain aspects of service were a bit unprofessional. We had drinks in the... More

Some things are happening first time in your life and this was accidentaly my first Michelin dining experience. Paradox is that I didn't even know. Have been visiting Cuckfield very often in past and always stayed in this place. As right continental ignorant didn't even know the restaurant over there is rated by Michelin. Nevertheless always have enjoyed my dinner,... More

Brought my parents here for lunch on a sunny but cold day in March and loved it almost from start to finish. Having not been here before I felt the entrance was rather difficult - I understand that this is hotel as well however there is no clear area to stand and wait to be seated or even wait for... More

Lovely dinner to accompany our stay at the hotel. Knowledgable and friendly staff, professional and intuitive waiting team, superb menu cooked to perfection. Experiencing local Sussex wines too was a joy.

We stayed here for a two night break before driving home to France. The welcome was super and although we hadn't requested it we were given a Spa room which meant that we didn't have to go outside to reach the pool and spa. We had treatments which were very professionally delivered and sooo relaxing and swam in the indoor/outdoor... More
