Restaurant is a must visit

I stayed at the Hotel & Spa with my partner on 23rd - 24th August 2015. The building seemed a little old and creaky. Some would like this as it seems traditional and quaint. The prices aren't traditional and quaint though, so I'd expect more. There were also leaks due to heavy rain, which I... read more

Booked for lunch. I was advised on the phone it was £45 for three courses but arrived to find it was actually a six course tasting menu - no worries though. The dining room looked very tired - chairs with the wood peeling off, stains and marks on the walls. I appreciate it's likely outside of their control, but the... More

We were impressed by the appearance of the tables, the attentiveness of the staff and, of course the food. Reasonable choice, all dishes beautifully presented, and oozing their repsective flavours. Wine list ok too. Dining experience proved to be the highlight of our visit as we felt the hotel hopitality and accommodation to be below par ( under separate review)

We were looking for somewhere quiet for a tea break and thought a little quality would be nice. Experience was bland. Lounge is very run down, chairs sofa uncomfortable. Tea was luke warm and staff looked liked they would prefer to be somewhere else. Whole experience offered no atmosphere at all.

This charming restaurant overlooks a pleasant garden. The restaurant offers tasting, set lunch and a la carte menus. On this occasion we chose the set lunch, both the fish & poultry main courses selected were excellent and beautifully presented. The best was their signature lemon tart for dessert, and I have to say it was the highlight! Just the right... More

Great location, visited the spa for a birthday. Only issue was the health spa allowed locals to join as a gym and pool use. So arrived with my wife having dropped our children off at school to find mums with young babies in the pool. Just spoiled the moment! Otherwise, the spa was great. Went for pre booked lunch which... Ockenden Manor is blessed with an amazing location: deep in rural Sussex, the dining room has massive views over the South Downs. It is a formal, fine dining restaurant, into which we were slightly nervous bringing our 4 month old baby. However, the staff were incredible: welcoming, polite and accommodating. The food is very good - high end British Sunday... More

The food was out of this world. Three courses of heaven. The hotel is old but has a lovely feel to all the rooms. The staff are friendly when you can find them ( the bar is usually unmanned)

Ate here as part of a short break in the area after our wedding. The hotel appeared lovely but maybe a little tired. When we arrived we were immediately directed to the bar where we offered a glass of champagne whilst we looked through the menu. We then had our meal, which was delicious. I can't actually remember what we... More

Myself and eight friends had a beautiful lunch. We all had the six course tasting menu which at £45 represents amazing value especially when you consider the superb quality of the food and the friendly, knowledgeable service. Every course was cooked to perfection, and beautifully presented. The whole menu was very well constructed and just the right amount for each... More
