great venue for larger parties

Great family party in the Hayloft. Decor and facility very good. Food to a high standard for the numbers - cured salmon with a delicious burnt avocado and lemon dressing, very tender blade of beef, lovely sticky toffee pudding. Attentive and smiley staff.

Well done the Talbot! 14 of us for a 70th party and everything was perfect from the friendly Julie pre arranging everything to the excellent Martin on the night. Everything was tip top and such a success, the girls serving us were great and the food super. The restaurant was busy but there was nothing they wouldn't do and the... More

Good Point. With short notice, we got a booking for 2 at Sunday lunch. 0230 - towards the end of proceedings. It showed. Table wasn't ready as place was packed. No problem. We were shown to a seating area to wait. No problem, but it would have been nice to have been asked if we wanted a drink (pub -... More

Spent our New Year's Eve he with friends for dinner and dance. First the food. The dessert was ok - hazelnut parfait - not remarkable which was a shame as the starter and main course were exceptionally good. They would not have been out of place in a fine dining restaurant - very pleasing and overall the food was very... More

We arrived, a group of 5 sodden cyclists, and were warmly welcomed in. Issued with bin bags to sit on (our suggestion to avoid any damage to the decor) we ordered coffees, teas, scrambled egg and beans on toast. The beans were good, the scambled eggs were the best we have had - I have them every Sunday ride somewhere... More
