Sister hotel to Ship Inn in Porlock, same beers seem to be on, but menu is different, so worth trying. Nice outdoor area which would be great on summers evening. Not massive inside, and don't take bookings, so pot luck. Car park opposite which states pay 24 hours, but local knowledge seems to be no one pays in the evenings... More

Visited recently with my partner for early dinner, and must say the food was good pub grub, but I am one of the silent minority who believes dogs should not be allowed I to premises where food is being served, I know this is a losing battle, and have to quietly accept this situation, but I do object to dogs... We called in after we had had something to eat earlier on but had a drink. The place was full on a Tuesday evening. I noticed the food that they were serving and it look well presented.

We visit this pub after a walk from the Sparkhayes campsite , along the beach , to Porlock Weir. It was fantastic sunny day on the first weekend of September . The pub is situated in the centre of this tiny village with outdoor seating looking across the Bristol channel and plenty of tables in doors. We had a good... More

We went down to see the spring tide which is a little special as The Bottom Ship is only inches above the high water mark. Indeed we sat with our drinks and food and as the water rose it was interesting to watch the yachts at anchor in the harbour climb ever higher. Its great to eat outside at this... More

Good quality pub food here, reasonable prices and dog friendly. Good ales and cider at a good price too.

This is a lovely country pub right on the Weir. The restaurant was crowded, but our food arrived in good time and was delicious. The menu isn't huge, but there is a good variety. Our steaks were cooked to order, and very tender, the wine was inexpensive and good, and the cheese platter was enormous. The staff were friendly and... More

The Bottom Ship is a charming pub in the equally charming Porlock Weir. We ate here on a weekday night in August and by 7 30 every table was full, so get there early to make sure you get a table. The bar staff were friendly, and offered local ciders and beers. The menu was slightly upmarket pub style, but... More

We enjoyed 3 different lunchtime meals at The Bottom Ship - all well presented and good quality. Even advised us we could move quickly under the marquis if rain arrived on the very showery day. If you want good ordinary pub food, served with a smile, and a choice of local ales, this is a great place to go. In... More
