Return visit - good meal!

Returned to Porlock for the gorgeous views, a walk on the pebbly beach and a spot of crabbing. We fancied an early supper so we ate here, was quiet early on but got busier. Fish and chips was very tasty and had a good menu for 4yr old who was well looked after. Will definitely return.

The Bottom Ship continues to be a must to visit on our annual trip to Porlock. Good food, good beer, good cider, good service, good value! What more do you need?

Drove over to Porlock Weir from Ilfracombe on Saturday, a trip across the moor with the in laws. Visited the bottom ship for lunch and everyone enjoyed their food. All reasonably priced and tasty. Have booked to come back for a weekend stay in August - can't wait :)

This fascinating ancient building is lovely to sit inside or outside. They have a good selection of real ales and decent pub food in a picturesque harbour-side setting. Dogs are welcome inside the pub too.

The situation is great with the most amazing views. We popped in for a quick bite and opted for the beer battered cod and chips with peas. The fish was gorgeous and almost too big for one person - I persevered and managed it all eventually! At only £10 this is somewhere I will definitely be going back to next... More

A good old pub in Porlock Weir - great buzzy atmosphere, with friendly staff. Good choice of beers and the Steak and Ale pie was delicious. We were there on a sunny day during the off season and it was packed, but there are lots of tables outside which will be perfect on a warm summer's day. Considering the pub... More

The location near the beach (stones!) is excellent. For a seaside pub and restaurant this can't be beaten.

Outside does not look inviting and a welcome sign would really help but once inside the staff, food, drink selection and ambience are superb. Great choice of ciders and real ales, which you could taste each one, and the food was well presented and tasty. We went for lunch on a Tuesday in mid March and it was busy which... More

Friendly service, nice atmosphere, great location, good beer - a cracking good pub & a definite recommendation. Great value B&B offers at the moment. Will definitely be returning.

We went to Porlock Weir on Sunday and the rain started in force so we popped in for a bit to eat. Having been before we were looking forward to some lunch. We had a cheese ploughman's and a roast. Both were very good, tasty and good portion sizes. My only slight thought is I'd of liked a little bit... More
