Lovely food

My partner and I ate in the cafe on Valentine's. We were pleased with the food and the service. The only disappointment was that we were not informed at booking about the seafood taster and so were unable to order it. However the food we had was delicious

My husband and I treated ourselves to the seafood tasting menu - 5 courses for £35 including a glass of bubbly on arrival. Every course was delicious and beautifully presented. Excellent friendly service and well chosen wine to accompany each course (4 glasses for 5 courses) for £19.50 per person extra. we will certainly do this again. Brilliant!

Having eaten at the Cafe at Porlock Weir before and enjoyed in very much, we decided to try the Seafood Tasting Menu again. We weren't disappointed; it's five courses of the most wonderful seafood I've ever tasted. The first was risotto of crab and mussels with spring onions, coriander and ginger, and was a great opener, with subtlety and zing... More

Usually get the great fish and chips from here but has been a few years since we actually ate here. Did so last week. We sat in the small dining room where I still think the layout needs improvement; very few tables but yet they still angle towards one another so you do have people talking directly towards you. This... More

Don't be put off by the name; a "small or inexpensive restaurant or coffee bar, serving light meals and refreshments" this is not. Our Seafood Tasting Menu was a delight running through - grilled sardine sitting on an apple slaw and thin beetroot slices garnished with a horsradish cream -cured salmon with a citrus fruit & herb salad - a... Booked this 5 course tasting menu using an Amazon Local voucher. We live quite a distance away but the drive to get here along a scenic coastal road and past Dunster Castle more than made up for it. On arrival we were seated in front of a huge window in the small and intimate dining room affording a view overlooking... More

This was a Travelzoo deal comprising a seafood tasting menu and stay for the night. We received a very warm and friendly welcome from Andrew and Sarah and can only describe our stay as superb. Each of the courses was met with delight and the recommended accompanying wines (which came at a supplement) were a perfect choice by our amiable... More

My wife saw the Travelzoo deal and booked the seafood tasting menu, which proved to be extremely good value. Now I'm not really a fish fan but this was simply amazing cooking and presentation. The flavours, ingredients and balance of the food was wonderful. You'd have to travel a long way to find food as good as this. The service... More

Spotted a Travelzoo deal for the 5 course tasting menu, so booked to visit during our holiday in the area. Really pleased we did! Brilliant deal! We booked for lunchtime so able to take in the view. Had a lovely table in the bay window. The restaurant was fairly quiet - surprising considering the quality of the food and service.... More
