Aftet not visiting for a couple of years it is good to see they have kept up the popular carvery. Ok beef and ordinary pork are joined with a preety good bunch of extras. Good to see giant yorkshire puddings. Whilst ahead of the mid range of carveries this place is not going to suit a real foodie for the... More

Now we were recommended this local Pub by acouple of friends, so thought we'd try it out. I am grading it on a 'country pub' type of scale, rather that a gourmet restaurant, however certainly on the basis of our sunday evening meal, it must learn to do MUCH better, to both maintain and improve its reputation. The place is... More

We went to try the Affcot Lodge out after it reopened. The restaurant is quite a large area so it doesn't have that "cosy" feel. However, we both had homemade pies and were very impressed with the quality of the food.

Called into The Affcot Lodge after seeing signage on a journey. A lovely warm welcome from a very friendly frontman. All staff were friendly and efficient, food was great and quick to arrive. Has an air of 'newness' about it. Was a warm evening and the garden benches sit beneath some lovely willow type trees. Very pleasant indeed.

We used to visit this establishment often when it was called 'The Travellers Rest' - the carvery's were fab. Since it's been under new ownership and called 'The Affcot Lodge' we have visited a couple of times. We've had a carvery which was good and up to the same standard of previous visits, but this time we called in on... More

My family stopped off here for a lunchtime meal and were pleasantly surprised. The welcome was friendly and the surroundings comfortable. The food arrived quickly and was plentiful and tasty. My husband reports that the beer (Hobsons) was a good real ale too, an added bonus. Would stop off here again.

Visited with my husband and 3yr old for Sunday lunch. We hadnt booked but were accomodated without a fuss. Werent charged for our sons meal although he had his own plate and bit of meat and that was me won over provided it was a good meal. Price is a big deal with children in tow. Carvery was excellent, very... More
