The welcome was good, friendly and efficient and there is a very spacious car park. The Affcot Lodge is however on a main road, and if you don't want traffic noise in the background I'd recommend eating in the bar area rather than the conservatory. Prices were very reasonable and the meals were generous and well presented. Our puddings were... More

We visited this restaurant while out with my mother who enjoys traditional and tasty food. She thoroughly enjoyed her meal in what was a warm and spacious dining area. The staff were friendly and there was plenty of car parking. I would recommend the restaurant to anyone wanting an unpretentious meal served in a friendly environment.

We had lunch here on the way back down to South Wales from Wrexham today. We'd tried a few places off the A49 on the way down and either they were stopping food or you couldn't get in the car park because it was tiny! Found the affcot lodge just in the nick of time to passing out with hunger!... More

A large ex-public house with a generous dining room and plenty of parking. They serve generous portions of food and do a very good Sunday carvery. Good service, very reasonable menu & value and a pleasant atmosphere...but nothing to get too excited about.

When I see one of 'risotto; curry, always with mango chutney; veggie lasagne and mushroom strogonoff' as the vegetarian options I suspect know this is a pub, it is always a pub, with a chef locked away for the last 20 years and has surfaced and been offered the 'we hate veggies so this is how to p... them off'...
