The Pound at Leebotwood is a 15th century thatched country pub and restaurant, situated in the heart of rural picturesque Shropshire countryside and is run by Neil & Sarah McCann. Our menu offers dishes created from fresh local ingredients, we use local and artisan suppliers, within a 30 mile radius where possible. Neil and Harry change the menus in tune with the seasons, so there will always be something new on the menu. We offer a classic Sunday lunch menu every week, always serving three roasts along with elements of our menu to suit all tastes and appetites.

A pleasant surprise

We had a family re-union meal for 6 people. The service was very good as were the meals which were all different and all freshly cooked and brought to the table together. Presentation was interesting with discoveries under each element of the meal. The other patrons were of the older... read more

we were a mixed party of adults and children, with one child being special needs. Lovely welcome, nothing too much trouble. The goats cheese tortellini with basil and olive salad was wonderful so tasty. the youngest in the party aged five, loved his battered fish, he ate it all. Homemade ice cream delicious. we will visit again.

The new owners have reenergized The Pound with really tempting menus and excellent food. We went for a Saturday lunch and loved it. John Williams is a hard act to follow in the kitchen but Neil McCann has obviously been inspired to emulate him, and on the evidence of our meal, he is succeeding. A wonderful Confit Onion & Garden... More

We stopped off on a trip from north to South Wales and knew that it was going to be magnificent as soon as we crossed the threshold. Fantastic smell of steak, wonderful ambience, wooden flooring and large beams. Highly recommend it

The Pound was recommended by our B&B hostess as we wanted to eat some good local food. We were lucky to get a table as this is popular with locals and visitors. It's a pub/restaurant. We had a table for two in the restaurant. The menu was exciting, the food and service excellent. Great value for money. Worth travelling to... More

We went to The Pound last Saturday with my in-laws and had a very enjoyable lunch. The Pound has a very interesting menu with some dishes you don't usually see on a run-of-the-mill pub menu. The staff were very helpful as they provided 2 chairs with arms for my in-laws who find it hard to get up. The lunch itself... More

We couldn't wait to try this restaurant after seeing this lovely thatched roof establishment. The menu was the best I've seen, along with perfect plating. Three of us were in our party, and all three had very bland food. Even the lamb was dry. So disappointed.

We called in on The Pound as we were on way to our holiday and just wanted a small lunch. What a revalation, the welcome and service was first class and although we only had a sandwich and drinks we received top class attention. May I congratulate the owners on one of my moans ,they provided us with cloth napkins,... More
