The food is unbelievably good. We could not understand why the place was so quiet on a Friday night but it was. The atmosphere could perhaps be better but the food certainly could not.

My wife and I recently revisited the Pound having celebrated our wedding reception there in April 2012 when, on that occasion, we were absolutely overwhelmed by the wonderful treatment that we received . We have returned on a few occasions, both for lunch and evening meals, and have never had any cause to complain whatsoever with the quality of the... More

I remember the Pound Inn at Leebotwood as being a warm friendly place, but 45 years later I found it to be cold and indifferent. The first question we were asked as we approached the counter was, 'are you having a snack or a meal'. As we hadn't even seen the menu at this stage, we all stared at her... More

There was quite a large choice on the menu. We had Ham Eggs and chips with a small bowl of salad. The Ham tasted cheap and not very appetising! For the price paid it was very disappointing - I noticed on the main menu Fish and Chips were over £11, very overpriced! The service was o.k. if a little uninteresting!... More

We visited The Pound last evening and was met by a very lady at the bar who made us feel we were intruding. Although we had been there several times before, she said that they only had few staff and so could only manage a few tables...even though at that stage there was only one other couple there. The food... More

Have been here on a number of occasions, normally a Saturday for lunch. Have never been disappointed, always great tasting food with big portions. Had a few different flavour soups which have always been lovely and served with the best bread roll ever. Good choice of mains, if your burger fan you definitely need to try the burger here. Served... More

If ever a meal could have been great with an atmoshere this was it. I had cheese soufle with new potatoes and tuscan vegetables followed by cheese board. The main was the best vegetarian meal I have ever eaten. The cheese board was lovely not vast quantities of uneatable cold food but nicely judged portions of a variety of cheeses... More

My friend and I were served a cafetiere of really poor coffee and charged £ 4.60! (£ 2.30 each) This must be the most expensive coffee in Shrewsbury and not even tasty. In addition, the bar person made us feel as though she were run off her feet and that our request for coffee was rather an inconvenience.

Popped in here last minute for tea. So glad we did. Beautiful pub inside & out to be fair. Warmly greeted by the lady behind the bar, promptly shown to our seats offered a drink & menu's. Our shared starter came quickly and it was really well presented & tasty, served by the same cheery lady who seated us on... More

We called in for Sunday lunch at an off chance, the ambience is very nice, recently decorated by the looks, very nice restaurant. I had soup to start, although a small portion it was very tasty. Had reared beef for main very tasty. The food was served with meat, 4 large not very nice roasters and a very large Yorkshire... More
