Big food and big views

The portions are so huge I think they probably need to look at their margins. Soup served with toasted bagel filled a gap but one of my party thought that the scone would be more traditional. It was the size of a loaf which made us laugh. I think we would definitely do a lot more walking before... read more

I'm not in the habit of moaning, but......... We dashed in to this place on our way home today from a camping trip in Gairloch. We were caught in a torrential downpour as we took down our tent and we got totally soaked. I thought some hot food would be good for the trip ahead so we stopped here. Not... More

Excellent for afternoon tea, but not so good for lunches. There's a lovely atmosphere with lots to look around and read.

As two friends who are fussy about coffee, we were delighted to find Mountain Coffee in Gairloch. A funky cafe with interesting cakes, delicious coffee and a comfy vibe, connected with a good book shop. A happy place to sip a coffee and relax. we came back each day for 3 days.

Tasteless coffee, weak with no flavour. Staff were rude and unhelpful. The cheese scone was huge and lacked taste and flavour.

Was overnighting in Gairloch & saw this place which looked unusual. We were not disappointed. It's a mixture of International curios. Good to look around while waiting for your coffee, which was lovely by the way and the fruit and cinnamon scones (that was heated for us) were huge and very tasty. We sat in the conservatory and the view... More

A nice and funky shop where you can browse 'real' books in peace with a nice ground coffee. The selection of sandwiches and bagels is limited but fine. The key lemon pie is gorgeous as is the passion and walnut cake. Sit inside or in the "greenhouse" if it is raining but the best place is outside with nice views... More

Real Woodstock festival 1960s feel to this place, but with 21st century coffee. And the sort of fresh baked cake your granny used to make.

During 4 days in Gairloch - we came to this coffee house/bookshop 4 times - it is fab. Friendly and knowledgeable staff - delightful food and good coffee....and then there is the books.. The décor is wooden post-hippy coffee house in style. Don't miss it If you can drag yourself out then go whale watching from Gairloch pier- we had... More

Had lunch here. The cafe was very funky. The bookshop had a great selection of books and cards. My husband's coffee was good and so was my tea. The bagel I had was not wonderful with a soggy Portobello mushroom. The cakes looked delicious but as,we didn't. try any I cannot comment on their taste.
