We stayed in Gairloch for four nights in the Gairloch Highland Lodge (10% discount off the food from staying there) up the road and ate in here every night. Each meal was expertly cooked, seasoned and prepared. We are surprised to see the previous reviews and could not disagree more with them. This is not meant to be a gastro... More

We booked in the afternoon but upon returning for evening meal it seemed like the booking had been missed and we were randomly placed into the lounge bar. After reading lots of reviews i was expecting better quality food but the Steak Pie I chose was bland and tasteless and the fish my partner chose was equally bland, both meals... More

I ordered Moules and they were awful, with a horrible 'off' smell to them. My wife had the ploughmans and it too was absolute rubbish- there were beetroots on it which tasted of nothing at all, and the bread served with it was actually stale. The beer I had with lunch was cloudy and off. The place itself could be... More

Can't complain about the food - basic but tasty - we had scampi & chips which you can't go wrong with. Good beer selection & dog friendly so ticks many boxes for us. Staff were a bit odd but would still visit again!

The staff are much better here than in previous year's visits however the food has definitely gone down hill. A prawn cocktail I would have been embarrassed to serve to guests at home, badly cooked haggis, a mediocre steak pie, and a very odd take on lasagne - I'm afraid we'll be giving somewhere else a try in Gairloch next... Really enjoyable meal here with friends and children, totalling 12 of us in all. The staff coped with us all very well and the seafood platters (which we ordered days in advance, as instructed) were great. Good beers and lovely setting. Take a walk up to waterfall and back beforehand!

It could just have been a busy night, but we went for a meal that took at least an hour to arrive before being served. the food was then good, but nothing more than good.

My husband and I really liked this place. We dropped in for lunch and opted for the old favourites of scampi and chips and a ploughman's; both were good quality, plentiful and reasonably priced, and my husband particularly enjoyed the homemade pâté. There is also a good range of local ales on draught, including the pub's own "Flowerdale".

This is a popular eating place and is often booked up at weekends in the peak holiday season so it is wise to book in advance. The menu is varied and extensive with a wide range of prices. You can eat in the bar or in the restaurant-the prices are the same. Service was efficient, prompt and served with a... More
