Early evening special is great value. Lovely staff too.

We had booked in for the 'early bird' and we arrived at about 1630. First in, but the other customers soon flooded in. Very nicely appointed restaurant, but without the normal faded pictures of Rome or Sicily from the 1970's (thankfully !). Good range on the menu, and all locally sourced... read more

I must confess we only ended up at Italia as we were staying at the Hope and Anchor and we had run out of options for dinner. We literally couldn’t get a table anywhere else in Alnmouth at the time. In spite of not having booked we explained we were residents and we were quickly shown to one of the... More

What looks like a bog standard Italian restaurant turns out to be much more. Delicious gourmet food. Was let down a bit by the service - big party was in on the same night and we had to wait ages to be shown to our reserved table. Apparently inexperienced waiter couldn't think laterally. More experienced member of staff soon sorted... More

Ate here recently with my mum and brother. Service was friendly, prompt and efficient all evening. Main disappointment was the food, which was variable. I had risotto, which was a little dry and stodgy. One other main was served with penne pasta, and pasta was a little undercooked - bit more than Al dente. Other main course was a chicken... More

We booked at very short notice and had the most wonderful meal. Amazing local seafood and huge choice including the menu and specials board. Great breads and wine. Attentive service. Only slight gripe was that it was a bit too warm as we were right next to the kitchen. Did not detract though. Super place.

We ate here on a whim managing to get a table without booking. Food and service were both excellent even though when my tiramisu was served it was still frozen. It was returned and explained that there had been a problem with the fridge and was offered an alternative instead. Have no problem recommending this as a place to eat.

Wide Italian-influenced menu. Pizza also available (apart from pasta etc). Good range of specials and friendly service.

This is a really good little restaurant. The decor is a bit formal, but the food is great. The meatball starter is delicious but very filling. The pizzas are excellent - my favourite is the Caprino with tomato, mozzarella, goats cheese, caramelised onion and balsamic drizzle - delicious if you have a sweet tooth (though other half found it a... visited the Italia on a weekend break to Alnmouth on a Saturday night. It has to be said the outside of the building resembles a cheap Italian restaurant but this is not the case once you step through the door. We were both pleasantly surprised and our meals were fantastic the best we had experienced in a long time. Crab... More

Myself, partner and son went to Italia last night and I must say the menu choices all looked great. I had scallops to start which were delicious followed by a pizza. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the service was excellent. Would definitely recommend coming here.
