A more modern café, but still with excellent food and snacks and tea and coffee. Its bright and light - the toasted teacakes are a delight, the coffee very good. Service is friendly. The range of the menu is excellent and there is nice open outside seating for when the sun does come out!

I review frequently fairly and usually quite positively however with the dandelion I am afraid I cannot think of anything nice to say. We had tea and sandwiches which cost us £16 . My husband ordered northumberland beef and blue cheese sandwich and I ordered egg mayonnaise. Unless Northumberland Cattle are square the beef was processed and completely tasteless the... More

Visited twice, first time had a very nice ham sandwich, which was pricey, but had huge quantities of ham on it. The coffee and scone were also very good. Second time just had coffee and cake, which was rather dry, I did not finish it. The service was efficient, but not really very friendly. What surprised me was that the... More

Good location with four courtyard tables sheltered, with a view across the golf course towards the sea. That's the good part. Apart from that very average. 3.30 - pushed to place order because they are stopping taking orders for food. Why? You don't close until 5? Kitchen closes at half three. But you only cook soup, baked potatoes and warm... More

We were looking for a cup of tea one afternoon in Alnmouth having been disappointed at Alnwick Castle. We stumbled on the Dandelion and enjoyed a lovely cup of tea in the courtyard. The prices were a little high but it is part of a hotel and backs onto the golf course.

on a recent short visit to Alnmouth we stumbled upon the Dandelion. We just had coffee, which was nice except served in handleless cups.

Indoor and Outdoor seating with a view of the Coast. We had a spot of Lunch here and a good cappuccino is served. They have home made ice cream and cakes. Bake Pot with beans and cheese is just what you need after a nice long walk. They do cater for Coeliac and gluten customers so shouldn't have a problem... More

Very disappointed by our visit to the Dandelion Cafe. It is part of a hotel which advertises itself as welcoming to coeliac customers, but our experience was very different. The waitress was clearly irritated by a request to know the gluten-free options (for my coeliac children). She snapped at us when both boys asked for the same cake (because there... More

We were staying in a cottage in Northumberland and whilst touring around the area stopped to look around Alnmouth. Very often while we are away I look at trip advisor to help decide where to go to eat, but we had no wi-fi, and I am glad, as if I had seen the mixed reviews I would not have come... More

As a family of 5 we went to the Dandelion café for lunch. We all ordered what we thought was a safe bet of jacket potatoes and coffee's and cold drinks. The diet coke was a regular which turned out to be HALF a can and all the potatoes were COLD. When told about this we were still charged full... More
