Liked the big portions and home made taste. Good service. Good for fish. Puddings looked lovely but too full

Had an evening meal here during our stay in Alnwick. Quality food and efficient staff. Also liked the friendly and cosy atmosphere. Good value. Would visit again if in the area.

The food quality excellent. Service was very good but slipped when food was delivered as we were not given cuttery to eat it with (staff very busy with other guests). A bit pricey but given location it was about right; we however could have saved 10% as forgot to say we were staying at The Sandle B&B! One anoying thing... More

We ate at the Sun Inn when we were last in Alnmouth (Nov 2013) so returned again during our recent stay in the village. Atmosphere is lovely.....the driftwood table decorations just make it special....food was delicious and plentiful. Never have we git so much scampi in a restaurant. Thoroughly enjoyed this visit and will definitely return if we return to... More

Staying in Alnmouth on holiday we decided we would have Sunday lunch out for a change. The Sun was the second place we looked at which took dogs, bright atmosphere and friendly host, we had two main courses, two deserts and a round of drinks for just over £30, which I thought was excellent value, I even queried the price... Ate here while on holiday in nearby Warkworth after visiting Alnmouth which has an excellent beach. We chose the Sun Inn because it looked very nice inside and because it allows dogs in the bar. The food and service was very good, we had sharing starters, nachos (huge) and the camembert, both were excellent. Mains were rib-eye steak, rillette of... More

Had a meal in here on a Saturday evening and booked in the bar and not the restaurant. We felt there was a better atmosphere in bar and the tables were still large to eat from. We got a sharing starter of camembert/crusty bread/salad which was delicious. The mains were scampi chips and peas and fish chowder and both were... More

Friendly pub that welcomes everyone and makes you feel like a local, even the dogs. Food is of a high standard but book early in high season as its always busy.
