Nice pub with good food. Beware however that reservations are required for Sunday evenings - as is so at other places in Alnmouth. Manager very helpful as we had already ordered a beer she agreed that she could fit us in. Ordered the duck confit which was excellent and tender. Potions were a good size! Good selection of beers and... More

We needed to book for 16 for early dinner and the sun accommodated us.Others in the village either would not take bookings or were full. We all enjoyed our meals and the staff are very attentive and friendly.

Staff were very friendly, (both the young woman behind the bar, and the young waiter), and the service was efficient. The food was well presented, but I found that the angus burger was tasty but rather hard, which would have been Ok but the chips however were tasteless, and the bun was very dry, and the ice cream had that... Called in for a spot of lunch on a beautiful summer day. Spotted a waitress in the beer garden carrying a menu so we asked her for it. Less than five minutes later we went to order food. Despite there being notices up giving times for food we were turned away at the bar, "We're not doing food for a... More

Lovely crab pate starter. Good confit duck but fillet steak disappointing , average and what seemed like oven chips. Shared a Belgian choc and amaretto cheesecake but couldnt taste the amretto and not great! Annoying knocking from kitchen to alert waitress. Pleasan service

I can only assume that "Mel and Bren" were on a night off as the service from the young waitress left a lot to be desired. On arrival we were told our table was the one in the corner. When we said someone was sitting at the table she said well they shouldn't be so tell them to move! Fortunately this... More
