Alistair and Anna have run the tea room/Bistro for a good few years. We had a meal with friends there when it first opened and the food was very good, the friendliness and the welcome you receive is second to none. We have not been for two years so we rang to book a table for Saturday we told Alistair... More

We have been visiting Alnmouth for years, and we will always make a point of calling into this café for a drink, lunch or afternoon tea. When we first discovered the Tea Cosy Tearooms, as we knew it then, we always experienced good, friendly service, and good, home-cooked food. Even though the name gas changed over the years the food... More

We were staying in Alnmouth and luckily called in on Sunday to book a table for Wednesday -we got the last table! The restaurant was very busy when we got there but the service was still very good. The food was excellent. My halibut steak was delicious as was my husband's beef in red wine. The owners were very friendly... More

Two of us were booked into Bistro 23 by our B and B hostess because she thought it was the best and it was necessary to reserve a table. She was correct and the approximately 40 places were all filled within 30 minutes of opening - and then people were turned away. That said it all as service, starters, main... More

Open only a couple of evenings a week this bistro provides an excellent small menu which when delivered to the table is hot, tatsy and excellently cooked.

We always eat at the Bistro when holidaying in Alnmouth and are never disappointed. The food is always great and we have never been disappointed. Friendly staff and good service. Only down side is that the entrance is difficult for people with mobility problems.

A group of us had booked in here whilst staying in a B and B nearby . A limited menu [ 5 choices from starter , main and dessert ] but all of a high standard with great presentation and delivery and at a fair price . A good atmosphere and overall a first class experience .

On the main street in Alnmouth, Bistro 23 is only open in the evenings Wednesday & Saturday (plus fish night on Thursdays in summer). It's a tea room during the day, which may imply it's neither one thing nor the other, but don't be fooled - the cooking is seriously good, and the service (I think mainly the owner and... More

A beautiful evening meal. Well spaced tables, attentive and friendly service, wonderful food. Vegetarian "ultimatum!" (no real choice) but it was excellent and much appreciated - autumn vegetables and very tasty sauce. Very nice to have something specially prepared and slightly different from the norm. Meat/fish eaters had great choice and enjoyed their food too!

We were spending a week in nearby Warkworth and searched for somewhere to eat nearby. Bistro 23 is only open for evening meals on Wednesday and Saturday and are we glad we tried it. Bistro 23 has great staff who look after you throughout and serve some wonderful food. Not the largest range on a menu but ALL quality. We... More
