Excellent family run seafood restaurant with that personal touch.

We had excellent personal service. The atmosphere was relaxed and the food was reasonably priced. I had Lobster Thermador which came with instruction of how to get the most out of it!!! It was delicious!!!! My husband had a, slow cooked, beef dish which he described as `succulent and very tender... read more

We were visiting Alnmouth and looked for lunch at various pubs and restaurants we had been told about. In general the menus were boring or the places weren't open. But then we found Bistro 23. The staff here were very friendly, the menu was varied and the food fresh and tasty.

A wonderful evening, fabulous choice of starters and main courses - I chose Craster kipper pate and toast and then Lobster - delicious. Followed by a cheese board with locally made cheeses, port and treated to a bottle of champagne by friends, a great night enjoyed by all. Thanks to Alistair, Anna and Lily for looking after us so well.... More

Booked a table for 4 on 9th of July, it was the sea food night. Very good starters of fish soup, fish platter and pate. Mains were the sea trout and the beef. The sea trout was perfect and my friend enjoyed the beef. The panna cotta was excellent, as were the brandy coffees. Very nice house white wine. Restaurant... More

We have been going to Alnmouth for holidays now for about 10 years and every visit we have had a meal at Bistro 23 and all have been excellent, however last Thursdays 'fish night' was the best yet. We were greeted by Anna, who recognised us (a good start) and looked after brilliantly all night by both Anna and Alistair... More

After disappointment at the Red Lion (see my other review) a group of six of us had an excellent breakfast here. Food was very good quality, served promptly by very helpful staff. Highly recommended.

Have eaten at least once in every visit to Alnmouth over the last 7 years. Food, ambience and service are excellent without being pretentious

We were staying near Alnmouth and dropped into this lovely restaurant on our wander around this lovely little town. We only had coffee- which was fine. The restaurant is lovely and light, clean and with pleasant staff. Lots of lovely prints to buy on the walls at reasonable prices. Toys and books for children to play with. Lovely clean toilets... We have dined here numerous times over the years and have thoroughly enjoyed it each & every time. Food, ambience and service are always great, and the price at the end of a full 3 courses & wine is very reasonable. I had the delicious sea bass & tiger prawns for main course on our most recent visit whilst my... More

We visited the cafe on a cold wet day and it was a cozy place to be. The staff were very welcoming and cheerful and the food - home made tomato soup and local Stottie was a treat. Lovely comfort food on a wet day. The home baking was delicious and the cakes as well.would recommend this place and reading... More
