went in here on a Saturday afternoon and an evening and it is a lovely pub. The food looked lovely and you can eat in the bar or dining room. The pub has a cosy feel with comfortable seats and cushions and a nice drop of Guinness too! Dogs are allowed and all the staff were friendly. We would eat... More

The seabass was tasty but a bit too buttery. My husband had the steak and ale pie and was really disappointed - no taste, chewy steak, soggy pastry. He didn't finish it which is not like him at all. It would have been ok if the meals were under £10 but they weren't. We came away feeling ripped off.

A lovely friendly pub. Lovely cider, especially the Thistlycross. We had a meal there on our second night. It was delicious. I had the lamb and my husband steak and ale pie. Both were perfectly cooked. I especially liked the slate plate that my lamb was served on. Will definitely be going back later in the year.

Busy place but a couple saw we were looking for a table and they were only having a drink...so nice for them to stand by the bar and free a table. Great food. I had the sea bass and my wife had the steak and ale pie. Bar man was great, let us run a tab as we waited for... More

Had a pleasant Sunday lunch not exceptional but reasonably good price was mid range and portion size was average service was okay but the waiter would not bring condiments and Told us to go back to the bar from the beer garden which was odd seeing as the waitress brought them out for everyone else

Really enjoyed the food here and was made to feel very welcome. Only wish we had more time to eat here again.

Popped in here for a drink, the atmosphere was welcoming and the environment clean. Staff were very helpful and the surroundings were cosy. Drinks were average priced and there was a wide variety.

First visit here with friends from the area. Beautiful traditional pub in a pretty village, friendly welcome & good atmosphere. Had a meal in the restaurant, lovely surroundings, excellent service & wonderful food. One of the best.

If you can get in at the Red Lion (they don't take bookings) this is by far the best pub in the village. Great atmosphere and really good pub grub.
