Great pub in beautiful location

just the place to visit after a walk on the beach, or for an evening realxing by the fire. Excellent range of food all home made and served by staff who really care about service. very welcoming to dog walkers and holiday makers but well known to locals who appreciate its food and hospitality.

Lovely pub and staff serving great home cooked food.. Dig friendly too in Bar and huge beer garden with views over estuary... Makes me laugh when people complain about dogs in pubs on the Northumberland coast.... Have a word with yourself that's the majority of clients...

First impressions deceiving. The bar staff were good and welcoming, but soon realised that there was an over abundance of dogs, a couple of them were incredibly smelly. We had to move tables.... Thereafter all was well - the food and beer were excellent. Just a shame there were too many dogs: seven of them and only 21 human beings

Superb well kept real ales and wine; diverse changing menu and good value for money. Dogs welcome. Two cosy fires and relaxed atmosphere. A must visit.

Love this little pub. My favourite place to visit when I'm up North. Food is consistently good and the open fire's a big bonus after a long walk on the cold beach. Very pleasant staff and can get very busy. Very snuggly pub that serve's nice wine, ale and good food.. Welcome's children and dog's.. Top Class..

First visit to the Red Lion though recommended by my daughter and hubby and it did not disappoint. Made very welcome when booking and enjoyed our meal in a warm (wood burner glowing) dining room, separate from the bar. Good choice of menu, though they should not run out of ice cream choices, and excellent food was served. Good choice... More

Decided to visit here after staying in Alnwick and we found many of the pubs there to be either closed or couldn't get a decent pint of real ale at lunchtime. Fab pub with good drink selection, great service. Ordered baguettes each and both were delicious and good value for money. Sat by the log fire which was just what... More

A nice village pub and the food was quite pleasant. Good range of local beers. Not quite as good as the Sun or Italia but certainly nothing to complain about

We visited Alnmouth on the last day of our New Year break at Banburgh. Stopped for lunch and the food was excellent! Good wine, the sweet chilli and chicken baguette my husband and son had said it was the best sandwich they had ever had! The chunky chips were so delicious and I would say the best chips I have...
