We called for lunch during our flying visit to Louth. The front bar is very tiny so we ate in the back room which is basic but very nice. The lady that served us was very friendly and helpful. I started with prawn cocktail which was a bit on the warm side but was nice. We all had the steak... More

Can't have any complaints about a pub that is steeped in character such as this. Theakston's on draught and reasonably priced - a pint of bitter and half a lager & lime was four pounds fifty. Pleasant staff, helpful in every way. We took our seats in the corner and just enjoyed drinks and the atmosphere - a few old... More

Recently dropped into Ye Old White Swan and it is literally stepping back in time. This place has been a taverns since around 1645 and still retains it's charm. The previous reviewer gave it a slating but it all depends on what you are looking for. A theme pub this is not. The wall and ceiling is clad in pine... More

This old inn looks to offer much, but it didn't deliver for us. I'm told the food is good, if slightly over priced for a pub, but we didn't stay to find out. The front bar is tiny and uncomfortable and are opened up at the rear has all the atmosphere of a 1960's school dining hall.

I've popped into this pub for a pint several times over the past 4 years and always found it cosy and welcoming. I've always wanted to try their fish menu but not had the time or opportunity. During summer I was in Louth one Saturday and witnessed a chef in the filthiest of 'whites' enter the pub and disappear into... More

The service was so slow. It is written outside that families are welcomed yet how many families can wait an hour for food! I wouldn't have minded so much but I had only ordered a ham sandwich! The drinks were flat twice. No apology was given for the delay. Certainly won't be going back. Don't even want to give it... More

We decided to visit mid week recently and the fish meal I had was great. So a week later we decided to re visit. Unfortunately on this visit my fish was way overcooked, dry and very disappointing. In fairness my wife enjoyed her meal on both occasions. Its a shame that you remember only the most recent meal but consistency... More

The food that I ordered was diabolical. The potatoes cooked in their skin were shrivelled and dry. The beef was dry and cold. The vegetables were o.k. I was given sausages even though I told them I was a coeliac. I checked with the waiter wether they were gluten free, he went to check with the chef who said they... More

Good food with an extensive fish menu, good range of real ales, good friendly service. What's not to like?

After having just about given up trying to find a pub around the Skegness area that serves homemade chips, we visited Ye Olde White Swan in Louth & yippee success at last! Not only do they serve real chips but they have a good selection of fish. We sampled the cod & it was beautiful, large flakes of pure white... More
