Rustic and welcoming

Called in for lunch on a visit to Louth. Rustic old fashioned pub with period features and open fire. Cosy bar area and seating for about 20 with a further dining room. Typical british food on the menu which is small but caters for most favourites. Food was hot and of good quality. Good portion... read more

On a cold dull day we found a warm and friendly welcome at the old white Swan right in the centre if Louth. Small with low ceilings I doubt its changed for many years and is all the better for that. Full of character and, on our visit characters. The food was very good quality and well cooked, pub grub... More

We were visiting Louth on a cold windy day and after some shopping wanted to warm up with a hot lunch. Ye Olde Swann was just right. Situated just off the market place the fire was giving off terrific heat and assured us of a warm welcome. With low dark ceilings and small rooms now merged into one, Ye Olde... More

Went to Louth for a day out, and found this delightful old pub with character. Very small so the advice is if you want a seat on Wednesday(market day) then get in early as it does tend to fill up quickly. We had the OAP meal 2 for £10, and were very pleased with the portion, the taste wasn't bad... More

Paid a return trip to this old fashioned English pub in the bust town of Louth on a crowded market day. The steak and ale pie was super and my wife enjoyed a home made lamb burger with gorgeous hand cut chips (I sampled them and they were just how chips should be). There are no pretensions in this pub... More

Excellent food and very good staff, our visit was very pleasurable and we were all impressed with the quality of the food and politeness of the staff, we managed to meet the management and found them very obliging and paid attention to detail. I can be extremely critical about quality of food and hygiene wherever I have a meal, all... More

Second time I've popped in here when on a solo shopping trip to Louth. Once again staff very friendly and welcoming. Leek and potato soup was gorgeous! Pub is a little gem, real fire, low ceilings, menu good for a small place and reasonable, locally sourced food. If the locals use it then it's got to be good!

First time in there and I loved it. I have never felt so welcome in a new place before, and the fire place is a gem when it's cold outside. Polite and friendly staff, rivaled only by the customers there. They also have 'speckled hen' on tap which is my favorite

Small and perfectly formed! Lunch here mid-week. Cosy i.e. smal, old style and "honest" pub. Great friendly attentive staff. Small coal/log open fire to warm one's parts too! Gammon steak was awesome as was ham, egg and chips. Very well kept ale including 6X. Excellent quality food, excellent value for money, great atmosphere - old style and very welcoming -... More
