We visited recently for a family meal- 4 adults and 3 children. Food was delicious, good portion sizes, fresh produce and very reasonably priced. However we were disappointed that we were told by a staff member (owner/manager) that other customers had complained about our son "screaming and running around", this occurred whilst my partner was ordering drinks at the bar,... Thank you for your comments and please rest assured they have been taken on board. The lady who complained was told in no uncertain terms that this is a “family friendly pub” and that the children from your table were in fact joining in with the Morris Dancers and that I found her complaint to be completely over the top.... First time visit for a small family get together. Lovely fresh tasty pub grub. Friendly staff and environment. Simple but well balanced menu. Good potion size and reasonable price. Would make a return visit.

Nipped in for a pint and some food after working nearby. The service was good and the food excellent. Had a nice chat with the landlord later in the evening. Would highly recommend a visit if you're nearby.

We went midweek for a birthday & the pub was nearly full. Shared a platter starter, tad greasy but nice. Mains were HUGE!! Steak well cooked, buckets of chips. Gammon & egg is real comfort food. Couldnt finish it all. Well priced drinks. Definitely a working mans pub meal but lovely all the same!

Following my Mum and Dads 50th Wedding Anniversary we were looking for a good place to take the guests who stayed on for the whole weekend. The Wheatsheaf was recommended to us and it turned out to be a great choice. Tasty and varied menu, great waiting staff and a good atmosphere. Live band were pretty decent too.

We booked a table for 4 people. The service was perfect, and we had a laugh with the waiting staff. 3 had burgers and 1 had gammon. The food was amazing. We then had desserts. The baileys cheesecake was to die for. We will definitely be dining here again. Thank you for a very pleasant evening.

Visited for lunch with my wife and youngest son (3yo) as this pub has been recommended by friends and gets rave reviews on this website. We were not disappointed. Very friendly service from a real barman (has a personality and knows the menu and prices without having to check first). Great beer; not seen Pilsner Urquell on draft around here... More
