Decided to drop into the Wheatsheaf and were not disappointed. A really nice selection of traditional pub food with a few well chosen specials. It was busy (which was a good sign) and the staff were attentive, warm and friendly. The portions were huge and the food was really beautifully done. Really nice people and a lovely evening out.

The single best pub meal experience, choose the steak, guaranteed not to be disappointed, has to be Michelin star standard.... melt in the mouth food. Don't ask for a steak knife... it would be an insult! Friendly, cosy, relaxed and thoroughly enjoyably..... highly recommended.

We visited here for a family meal on a Saturday night. The best welcome and service I've come across in a long time, and basically the best steak. The menu is limited but it means everything is done to an excellent standard. Great atmosphere, great food, and worth what for us will be, a 30mile drive.

Stayed recently at the Boston West Hotel and could walk the short distance to this nice looking pub. As i was staying for a couple of nights I decided to try it on night 1 and wasnt disappointed so ate on my 2nd night too. On both evenings I was met by a warm welcome and equally warm log burner.... Locals were very friendly and hospitable. Most had great costumes on and looked the part. Thanks to all concerned for a most enjoyable night.

Have had a few visits here recently, somewhere recommended, otherwise had not even considered The Wheatsheaf. It's unpretentious, friendly, welcoming, and not pretending to be other than what it is - a family-friendly straightforward village pub with a reasonable and varied menu, well cooked food at very decent prices. The chips, hand-cut and not out of the freezer, are delicious!... More

I visited this place with family and friends after my father in law reccommended it when he went to a birthday party here a few days earlier. He stated that the steaks were top notch so i went expecting the best. I was not disappointed. 6 of us were seated in the main bar area which was cosy and warm... More

Although we booked late and there was a party of 20 in the restaurant, we had a lovely meal in the bar area. The meals were reasonably priced and well cooked and the main course amply sized. The Brie I had for starter was lovely but a little lacking in quantity. The staff were very warm and friendly and were... More

We visited recently for a family meal- 4 adults and 3 children. Food was delicious, good portion sizes, fresh produce and very reasonably priced. However we were disappointed that we were told by a staff member (owner/manager) that other customers had complained about our son "screaming and running around", this occurred whilst my partner was ordering drinks at the bar,... Thank you for your comments and please rest assured they have been taken on board. The lady who complained was told in no uncertain terms that this is a “family friendly pub” and that the children from your table were in fact joining in with the Morris Dancers and that I found her complaint to be completely over the top....
