Really very good indeed. That old standard sausage and mash. Even when it's bad it's ok. This was excellent. 3 big, tasty Lincolnshire sausages. Big pile of mash. Peas. Fine, fine onion gravy. Quality and quantity. Good service too, and well kept beer. The rest of the menu was traditional without being boring. The tuna steak got rave reviews. Again,... More

Both my wife and I visited on Saturday 21st for the first time. It's nothing glamorous to look at as it is clearly a "local", however the service and more importantly the food were top quality. All home cooked and fresh and huge portions, will definitely be going back.

On occasions we have visited The Wheatsheaf for Sunday lunch. Always we have had a nice starter and a perfectly cooked main course, usually a roast meat and all the trimmings. We have found it is advisable to book. When we arrive we are welcomed and shown to our table and given the menu and asked what drinks we would... More

Dont know if we will go again, its a little out dated... More

Thank you for the time taken to write your review and we are pleased to note that the Sunday dinner “was lovely”. Before further comment I must just clarify the position regarding the QE2, that is: in my early days of being a chef I was tutored by a former head chef from the Ship; not that I actually worked... Went in on a tuesday night, intent on having a burger, almost didn't because of the tempting Menü,but had one of the best burgers I've ever had- made by a local craft butcher of quality beef,no fat or the usual dotubtful provenance ingredients. Served with great Chips and veg on a red hot plate, promptly, and not expensive, either. Will definitely revisit and fill the... More
