Nice meal with friends

We visited The Wheatsheaf Inn as a group of 6 recently, for an evening birthday meal. The venue is a pub, restaurant and bar all in one, and benefits from it's proximity to a local hotel. It is situated by the side of a Fenland Drain (river) and close to a branch line railway. The menu was... read more

We were travelling home from Lincoln and on the off chance stopped here for a bite to eat. Although the dog was welcome in the main bar area we wanted to sit outside. Because of sitting outside they would not let us run a tab - which was OK with me but bear it in mind as you do have... More

Friends came over to see us, and suggested we go out for a meal. The Wheatsheaf is well recommended on TA. When we got there we were asked if we wanted to sit in the bar or restaurant. Choose the restaurant, and were duly sat at a table for 4, I did notice 2 large tables at the end of... More

We had the pleasure of eating at this lovely pub to celebrate two family members birthdays. We had a lovely table reserved for us and were extremely well waited on all evening. A special dietary requirement necessitated a fat free meal to be prepared and the restaurant produced a beautiful meal with no problems and were very happy to serve... More

Absolutely brilliant food, hosts, atmosphere and destination. Very fairly priced food for the quality and a great selection of drinks.

This is a great old fashioned riverside CAMRA Pub with excerlant food. Its not a gastro job with pretentions. Just very frendly & headbanging music just good conversation. Outside garden overlooks the Black Sluce Navigation so you may see a boat or two. They also know how to look after beer.

Dropped in for some lunch with my 80+ year old mother. The owners were very welcoming and the food was very good. I am particularly fussy as to how my steak is cooked and I am not afraid to say so but on this occasion it was done to perfection and the quality was excellent. I will definitely be making... More
