Never sat in, however, as a takeaway, they still do the best chips ever.I think it must be the smell of them that hasn't changed in years as you walk past drags you in. If the fish size was bigger it would be 5 stars.

Always freshly cooked. Service is good. Value for money. Did not need to eat anything else for the rest of the day. Situated in the centre of Boston so very convenient for a snack or meal.

You can't really go wrong with Tate's; you always get a decent standard of chip shop fayre. It's often difficult to get a table which proves the popularity of the place and the tables sometimes have remnants of the previous customer's meals on and around them, but I don't think that's unexpected for a busy cafe. The food's always decent... More

Not to bad for food. But can be very tight for space and the food is expensive and you may be paying for history. Not really suitable for handicap people and the toilets are not that brilliant also.

Dropped in after being directed to it by locals. Chips taste home cooked, Cod in light batter was gorgeous and the mushy peas were quality. The above cost £9.50 with a can of pop & a cup of tea. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would I return? You bet.

I'm always a bit wary of an establishment that display an "award winning" banner to try drum up trade, but I can see why the chips served up might win awards. The service was good too, although the pies suffered the common problem of being rather soggy making one wonder if they were freshly baked.

This restaurant serves the nicest fish and chips in Lincolnshire. Try lightly battered cod, chips and mushy peas, they are delicious. The staff are efficient and very friendly.

Sam and his staff deliver quality fish and chips (other choices available) to eat in with waitress service, outside at tables and takeaway. Prices are average. I've never had a bad portion. Often go here as it's in town centre and smells so good it draws you in. Much better and filling and priced than the posh cafes or bakery... More
