Wanted to see what all these was about and was not disappointed. Just the most exquisite food and excellent service. Has two floors so ideal for wheelchair users too. Would definitely come here again. Very soon hopefully!

Haven't been here since they moved. Pleasant surprise, nice decor and the food was fabulous and very good value. You must book well in advance for a Saturday, this was My third attempt to book two or three weeks in advance. Well worth the wait. Staff all lovely

Ascough's is individual. Thoughtfully styled restaurant, in a contemporary and pleasing design. The staff are professional through and through, but with a friendly manner. Over the years since they originally opened on the High Street, the quality, imaginative menus, perfect cooking, hot food, gives you a taste sensation every time. It has never varied. This visit to their current location... More

Since Ascough's has moved to their new venue I have not been however I have been there prior when it was a pizza place. It was a cold echoey place so I was a little surprised when they chose to stay there instead of moving back to the quaint but small building the other side of town. Well they have... More

Have managed to reacquaint ourselves a few times recently and have not been disappointed on any occasion. We were concerned about not liking the new venue after the enforced move from previous premises due to fire as we didn't enjoy the experience when it was Timo's. Some clever furnishing have eliminated the poor acoustics - well done! The ever changing... More

We had three delicious courses. Duck parfait was very good, the melon very tasty with an unusual coconut granola. We both had sea bass with mussels and clams which were all cooked to perfection and lovely fresh veg.Unusual desserts of a spicy carrot cake with caramelised chantilly and a toffee apple mille feuille ended a superb meal and good value... It's sometimes hard to get a booking at Ascough's, and when you eat there you know why. The food is delicious, beautifully presented, and you don't go away hungry! They have a great choice and I really like they way they have re-vamped the restaurant.

Had Saturday lunch here, this was our first visit and was recommended by a friend who had warned us to pre-book - good advice. At first scrutiny of the menu I was a bit unsure what to choose as to be honest nothing seemed to appeal so we decided to go for a different dish each and share in case... More
