Brilliant value superbly cooked

Went with the extended family (8 of us) today. What a delicious meal it was. Menu is a little bit limited with five or six choices of starter, main and dessert, but at £22 for three courses it is really good value. Really enjoyed our visit. Waitress was friendly, the menu was simple but covered all bases. We had 3 courses, enjoyed each on. The starter was poached egg with black pudding salad. Nice dressing on the salad, egg cooked perfectly. Main course was even better, pork steak with apple chutney. Surprised us when roast potatoes and veg turned up as well,... More

Great little restaurant with inventive menu, enthusiastic and friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. We tried the 5 course mystery menu and I would very much recommend it. A good combination of textures and flavours with on this particular day the risotto course and the 3 varieties of desert being the highlight. Reasonably priced for what it is with dinner... More

i want to mention the lady who was serving and representing front of house as she was really good. We got a very warm welcome and the standard of service would be equal to any good London restaurant (watch out that she is not poached by a competitor). The food was also great I had the scallops followed by the... More

Marks cooking alway reminds me that the experience of eating is about being left with the memory of exquisite taste and texture. From the focaccia to the coffee via the risotto/fishcakes to the Limoncello and Sicillian lemon posset with flap jack everything is perfectly judged including leaving you comfortable at the end. To be able to enjoy this quality without... More

Met friends for a very pleasant lunch. The food was perfectly cooked, beautifully presented and very tasty. We were given some delicious freshly baked bread whilst we waited for our starters which was a lovely touch. Was very impressed by the price - excellent value. The only very small criticism was that my starter was served on a small slate.... More

Met friends for lunch in Nailsworth. Found Mark@Street through Gourmet Society and very glad we did. Lunch was excellent. Pleasant atmosphere, professional staff and menu items that should suit most palettes. We ordered Pate, Goat Cheese Salad and Chilled Leek soups for Starters. Soup was to die for (but very creamy!). 3 of us had the Crispy Belly Pork (1... More

The food was absolutely lovely. We both had fish and it was cooked to perfection and the flavours delicious. Sadly the service was really quite poor and got slower as the evening went on. We ordered desert wine which took 25 minutes to arrive even though they didn't seem that busy.

I'd heard a lot about this place, so was really expecting something special when hubby took me for dinner on Saturday night. Staff were pleasant, if young and inexperienced, it was nice to be greeted at the door, but they had no 'chat' to carry the welcome through. It all felt a bit awkward. We were seated in the window,... More
