Our Bistro menu celebrates British food and produce of the South West, making best use of Hobbs House Bakery's handmade bread and wood fired oven. We have a focus on the carefully sourced; everything is bought directly from the producers and cooked with real care and imagination. We put a a strong focus on the traditional cuts of meat from our butchery alongside fish that may have fallen from favour, but lack nothing in flavour. We serve great teas and coffee from local roasters Extract. Excellent food

At last a place with good food and good service. The bistro is centrally placed and there are a number of free car parks in the town, although these do get busy. Coffees are a good size and you can help yourself to free water - always a nice touch.

Seen many Hobbs baked products within varies stores and was delighted with our first visit to the bakery and cafe! All the tables were full but we managed to find a spot and despite the popularity the food delivery and smoothies were top notch. Definitely revisit for lunch in the future and would recommend to all as it served us... More

My partner and I called in and we're hoping for a table in this particularly busy bakery and bistro. We were quickly seated and served by friendly members of staff and there was a great choice of food and drinks. My partner chose a toastie and I went for the pizza which was on a sourdough base and tasted delicious!... More

Struggled to find somewhere still serving at 2.30pm, but wandered in here and we're delighted. Great friendly service and delicious vegan burger. Bought some bread too which didn't last long.

Would recommend a visit. Tucked upstairs above the bakers shop is the small intimate setting bistro. Excellent service and always delicious freshly cooked food. Good menu choices and everything from their home made soup, burgers, sandwiches and cakes are always superb. Good coffee. Delicious bread and cakes to take home too. Not to be missed.

We enjoyed a great afternoon tea with our grandchildren. The food was very tasty and sufficient. The children loved their hot chocolate, as we did our Cappuccinos. A very nice intimate setting. A most pleasant visit.

Treated to breakfast for my birthday, very prompt service, lovely peppermint tea and toast selection, my husband had a nice sausage sandwich with "proper bread" washed down with good cup of coffee. Would recommend a visit.

I found this shop when I did an internet search for a cake shop in the area, and stopped off to buy cakes en route to visit friends in Oxford. (These were fantastic, and much appreciated.) I was delighted to find the cafe upstairs, and really enjoyed the avocado on toasted sourdough bread. An added bonus was to be able... More
