Lovely old Pub

Eat at the Yew Tree last night, lovely old pub serving good local beers. Very friendly service and we were made to feel very welcome. Varied imaginative menu and good wine list with everything available by the glass. Food was very good and we intend going back in the summer for lunch and a walk up... read more

Called in after a walk up May Hill late Saturday afternoon. Doors open, key in till but no one there. Spoke loudly to attract attention but no response. Phoned pub from bar and waitress came down. Apparently the pub was closed and she was dismissive, unconcerned unwelcoming and "off for a shower". Couldn't even be bothered to serve us a... More

Booked Sunday lunch between Christmas & New Year for a family celebration. Very busy & had long wait before our order was taken. Starters arrived within 10 minutes but our plates were not cleared for over 10 minutes after we had finished. Then we waited 50 minutes for our main course, then 3 out of 4 meals arrived, having to... More

Having failed to get a flight to Barcelona we looked for a restaurant nearer to home. This was our first visit to this venue and we had a very pleasant lunch with local ingredients. We both had the pheasant for our main course. In the past we have always been wary of ordering this because of any stray shot but... More

My wife and I have been making the 1 hour trip from Birmingham for around 3 years for Sunday lunch and a brisk walk up May Hill to see the River Severn as it makes its circuitous route to the Bristol Channel. After a longer abstinence than is usual, this was our first excursion here for at least 8 months... More

Four friends enjoying lunch together at this superb pub. Everyone thought their meal was superb, I can only speak about mine, a most tasty cassoulet, made to a very original recipe, followed by the lightest bread and butter pudding I have ever had. All in all a lovely lunch

Have visited several times and again twice in a matter of days. Both recent visits offered a varied selection on the specials board and the a la carte a decent selection to suit all tastes and budgets. A welcoming selection of local ales, ciders and perrys whilst perusing the menu, followed by prompt service and delivery of food with an... More

Great food. Good selection on menu (not to sure about the previous review - I would recommend ignoring the below terrible comment). Great location. Views are amazing. Brilliant service and the wifi was welcoming. Visit this restaurant / pub and you will return. I am looking forward to trying their summer bbq on my next visit.

The food menu leaves a lot to be desired and you get the impression the chef just wanted to show off their Gordon Ramsey degree rather than attempting to make a menu that appeals to all situations. Not everyone wants a la carte all day. Change it up and like a tree, find your roots as this pub has long... More
