Sunday lunch

The Wheatsheaf was recommended to us for Sunday lunch 2 years ago and we have only just got there! It was a really lovely early fathers day treat. The more senior staff were very polite, accommodating and professional. The younger waiters could do with a little more training and experience on... read more

Visited this pub restaurant on a Sunday with my partner and her father who has Alzheimers. We were extremely impressed by all of the staff, who whilst mostly very young, maintained a friendly but professional approach at all times. I'm vegan and adjustment of dishes on the menu to accomodate this was attained without fuss. My partner shared a main... More

This restaurant was recommended to us but unfortunately neither my husband or I enjoyed the food. We felt it was trying to serve trendy food without success. My husband had the vegetable dish which was a plate of most unusual vegetables, small serving at £17 he thought it was not at all enjoyable. I opted for a steak which was... More

We drove 45 minutes to meet friends coming 45 minutes from the other direction to meet at The Wheatsheaf as they recommended it. There was a large wedding party getting ready and girls running around in skimpy dressing gowns when we arrived! Interesting! Lovely building and gardens, small car park. Lovely bars and dining room. Slightly too loud music. Nice... More

Yet again , great service and terribly executed food from the kitchen . Why is it that for 3 people at £150 you get to smile and thank the staff for nothing . Cuttlefish GO TO AUSTRALIA and learn how to cook it .. Hard chewy pieces of filth , whole plaice , why not throw it on the plate... More

After a lengthy hike outside of Northleach, we enjoyed the warmth, atmosphere, service and food at The Wheatsheaf Inn. The fish and chips were excellent, as were the beers.

What an absolutely wonderful location and experience! YUM! YUM! YUM! I ordered the Souffle (cheddar cheese)... oh my goodness!! Delicious!! With fresh asparagus. And a sticky toffee for desert. Very authentic. Fabulous meal and cost only 20 pounds. Do NOT miss this particular restaurant if you are in the area. It was a lovely drive getting here!!!

We stumbled upon The Wheatsheaf by accident en route back to London one sunny Sunday afternoon in May and stopped for lunch in the garden. It was flawless, from the service to the food and surroundings, every detail had been thought about and covered but with such style and grace you felt it just flowed without too much hassle at... Good quality food and service in a lovely setting. Slightly on the more pricy side but worth it. The best place to eat in Northleach
