Had an evening function in the wonderful lodge room! Everything was top notch, especially the cheese soufflé ...but the rib of beef that came out from the chef was absolutely top notch...looks easy to do this I've tried it a home and it just isn't the same....Well done, we all loved the place and it was worthy of a return... A popular place judging by the bustling busy atmosphere on a Friday evening. Had of course booked and wise to do so as the restaurant was near full, a mix of families with children, couples and groups. Imagine many were overnight guests. The menu has a lot of pricey steaks but also some reasonable value other dishes and was happy... More

Having had a superb meal with excellent service last year, I was somewhat hesitant to return. I needn't have been concerned, as the twice-baked cheese souffle was as delicious as I remembered and the chocolate cake with chocolate sauce completed the meal wonderfully. The staff was attentive as one would expect from a venue of this quality. We'll be going... More

Sometimes revisiting a restaurant that was excellent on the first visit can disappoint, but not this one. Met a friend from Oxford and enjoyed starters, mains and a bottle of house white for £55 including 10% service. I had kidneys on toast followed by lambs liver on spinach, both very tasty & cooked to perfection. My friend, who is pescetarian,... More

The Wheatsheaf is a pleasant, slightly upmarket pub in the Cotswold village of Northleach. There is ample outside seating in a courtyard garden. Inside, features large hardwood tables and long chesterfield type seating along the walls. A shortish menu delivered some good quality dishes - aubergine, chickpeas and apricot tagine in an attractive Moroccan tagine and roast chicken breast with... More

Lively atmosphere. Very enjoyable food. Service level not up to the standard one would expect of a restaurant at this price level - having to leave the table to hunt for salt and pepper - coffee ordered but not delivered - a slightly brash manner.

having eaten here cheltenham festival week last year this was the first place booked for this year and if anything even better second time around. The kidney starter is almost a main meal itself, followed by the pork everything cooked to perfection and great service as well value for money and a really relaxed atmosphere we had sunday lunch and... We decided to drop in for a late lunch at the Wheatsheaf Inn, in the quaint Cotswold village of Northleach. It was 3.20pm rather late but the Manager Peter said that he would see what he could do as service stopped at 3pm. He recommended the cheese souffle, with a side portion of fries. Well thank goodness because it was... More

Two course set menu - cheap but disappointing! Trying to make the most out of leftovers that just don't mix.
