We came here for Sunday lunch with the family. I had the the roast beef, which was the best I have had. Unfortunately the roast potatoes didn't match the beef, being dried out and a bit leathery (been kept hot out of the oven for too long I suspect). Despite the other comments the staff were very friendly and we... More

What a fantastic restraunt. Really accommodating and understood our party and what would help with three young children. Excellent service and fantastic tasting food, made for a really enjoyable and relaxing evening meal. Thanks, it made our weekend!

My wife and I moved to the beautiful Cotswolds last November and at least once a month we go out for more than pub grub. We have therefor tried and tested quite a number of pubs and restaurants, some good, some mediocre and some bad. The one restaurant we keep returning to is The Wheatsheaf; the food is excellent, the... More

Out for evening meal with wife and mother. 10 children under 16 turned up at 9.15pm. Not happy that children are allowed in to the restaurant at this time. Advised "family" friendly and limited space. Just so happens parents of the children went to a different room all together, left with two tables of their children! Further, walked past private... Tonight we ate at the restaurant - there were four of us. We have been to this restaurant before and our friends have been many times. Where to start...... We entered the restaurant and appeared to be in your staff’s way with servers running around. After waiting a while we were seated at around 8.15 p.m. After selecting from the... More

The decor is smart and chic, the menu is short but full of quality produce, much of it local. The house rose was perfect on a summers day and the garden is glorious, highly recommend.

Our third time here, and pleased to report standards remain high. On a lovely Sunday we had a floral NZ Riesling and an IPA in the delightful wild flower strewn garden before heading indoors to the rustic dining room. Consider but well thought through menu, we started with mint pea purée, broad beans and feta crostini, a taste of summer.... More

I had a few days off work and after a great family do here in May I decided to stay one night. The place is really nicely decorated and I could not fault the food and staff who were all very friendly and clearly enjoy working here. My only gripe was that I was in room 5 on a hot... More

Had an evening function in the wonderful lodge room! Everything was top notch, especially the cheese soufflé ...but the rib of beef that came out from the chef was absolutely top notch...looks easy to do this I've tried it a home and it just isn't the same....Well done, we all loved the place and it was worthy of a return... A popular place judging by the bustling busy atmosphere on a Friday evening. Had of course booked and wise to do so as the restaurant was near full, a mix of families with children, couples and groups. Imagine many were overnight guests. The menu has a lot of pricey steaks but also some reasonable value other dishes and was happy... More
