This place is exceptional. Food is great, traditional pub food, albeit with a twist - try the nachos. Nice garden, v tolerant I'd children (maybe welcoming would be a better way of putting it) , but the real treat is the landlord and his wife; quite possibly the nicest, most friendly and welcoming hosts I've ever encountered. We live a... More

My 60th Birthday...and a walk to Widdington and an unplanned visit to the Fleur De Lys...Helpful and friendly Bar staff and quickly served....Later when the Landlord realised it was my 60th - a free Pint!!!! - i was touched - and the visit to the Pub made my day. Warm friendly atmosphere and welcoming staff. Would have liked more choice of veggie and fish but meal we had was lovely. We both opted for their traditional fish and chips. Their website was informative which helps. Although local to us we hadn't been to the pub for years but we will definitely add it to our list of favourites.

Went with friends to The Fleur on a fairly busy Saturday evening. We received a warm welcome from Chris the owner. Our table was ready for us so we ordered our drinks (good choice of real ales, wines and guest lagers) and sat down. The evening menu includes their wonderful 'Whale and chips' if you have a good appetite. Some... More

We've only been a few times since living in the area but it is by far my favourite local pub. Lovely inside but has a fabulous garden which is so well looked after. Well behaved dogs are welcome, which is a big plus for us! We've usually had sandwiches at lunchtime which are tasty, generously portioned and come with the... More

My family and I have been to the Fleur de Leys a few times. The welcome is always warm and the food is fantastic. There is always something interesting on the menu and this visit the caramel cheesecake brownie was the best desert I have ever had. The beer selection is interesting and the beer is kept well. There is... More

We decided on this place after looking on TripAdvisor for somewhere new to go as we are new to the area. The atmosphere was nice although we were made to feel awkard when we first walked in from the stares of the locals. The fire was on though so it had a lovely cosy feeling. The food was rather overpriced... More

Gorgeous pub and garden. Great lunchtime snacks from camembert to bloomer sandwiches. Love visiting this pub especially if the sun is shining!

What a superb find! We're staying overnight near Stansted airport before a flight in the morning and searched online for a good pub near to the airport and came across this great find. The first noticeable thing in this pub is the warm welcome - even to outsiders not lucky enough to be locals, the customer service is excellent and... More

A fine example of a welcoming English pub with log fires in the winter, a nice garden for the summer and good beer and food in a lively atmosphere but not so loud you cannot hold a conversation with your fellow guests.
